How Much and How old?

HereGoes!
Im new here, i suppose i can look at it as my first proper steps to sorting out the huge mess ive got myself and my mum in!
Im not confident enough to put up how much i owe- just yet, im sure im not alone when i say i find it easier to NOT talk about it but what im most ashamed about is how much i owe and how old i am..
So, i was wondering how old people are (sorry, sensitive question for some people lol!) and how much you owe?
Im hoping it may make me realise that im not the only one at my age- oops, almost forgot.. im 23
Thankyou all in advance.

Hi Heregoes!
Try not to be ashamed, we are all in the same boat.
I'm 24 (going to be 25 next month) all of my debts are outlined in my sig.
Embrace them for they will make you stronger

hello
Im 23, girlfriend is 20, and owe in total £100k (majority on mortgage)
Loving every minute in debt cause its allowed my girlfriend and I to live together; and more recently, start a family. I have to admit however that i cant wait to be debt free (see sig)
Im in no way ashamed of being in debt, but i guess in our case its because we have everything to show for it....Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts - 1420 Days To Go!LBM: £103,592.98 / Currently £78,500.08 - Down 24.22% / Mortgage: £92,800.00 / Loan: £17,284.21 / Overdraft: £450.09 / C/Card 0%(October 08): £5,601.54 / C/Card 0% (January 09): £1075.22 / Child Care: £137.80

age 29. Debt highest £49,500. now £39,500.
The important thing to remember though is not the amounts of debt but the ratio to earnings. If Iwas earning £75,000 a year then I wouldnt really feel I had a problem. unfortunetly I earn hardly 20% of that figure.
Also im sure Heregoes! is not your fmaily name. its totally anonymous on here so you shouldnt feel to bad about posting about your debts. you can post whatever info you want and feel comfortable withOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 297 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -

Hi HereGoes!
I'm 33, and had debts of nearly £11,000 when I came here (that does not include our mortgage). What I was most ashamed of was that I had run these up by myself and my dear hubby didn't know anything about them.
It is totally anonymous here, so do not be afraid to post. The DFWs provide so much support to everyone regardless of age or size of debt.

I'm 44, which I find hard to believe - not when I look in the mirror :rotfl: - but in my head, I can't imagine where all that time went.
I owe, as of now, about £13,000 on cards & overdraft, and about £60,000 on my mortgage.
How much I used to owe, I honestly don't know, as it was ages after I got a grip and started reducing my debt that I added it all up, but even when I did it made me think
it used to be significantly more is what I'll say!0 -
Lol, you've all made me smile!
I wish i could get a mortgage but theres no way anyone would lend me money for a house so until im sorted debt-wise then it wont happen.
Very good point crown, i dont earn very much although im trying my best to look for a better paid job currently its been abit depressing as im not getting the ones im underqualified for, let alone the ones i am qualified for.*PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBTS!*0 -
Look at it this way: you are ONLY 23, (oh I wish...) and you have realised that you need to sort your self out now. Wish I wasn't such an old git with so much wasted time behind me!
Though there's life in the old dog yet I hope...
