Hi guys,
I imagine lots of people have to come to this thread without realising MSE published a news story on this issue at the time.
Here's a link to our story: Thousands of Santander mortgage holders could get payouts after blunder
Hopefully this will help with some of the questions you may have.
Best wishes,

A bit of a weird one. I phoned Santander last week and was advised that I did not qualify for any compensation, so I just accepted it. Then on Friday I received a phone call from them saying that they had listened to the phone conversation I had with one of their staff and that perhaps I did not understand what she was trying to say to me. They wanted to go through the questions on the phone, but I requested a form to be sent to me instead. Sounds a bit fish to me!0

shows Santander haven't got an idea, fill the form in watch what you are doing with question d20 -
I was simply going to compose a 3 point letter along the lines of
1) not made aware of implications
2) I was denied the option to move my mortgage
3) was not clear that for 3mths there would be no ERC
Am I better to ring them up and ask for a complaint form/questionnaire?0 -

You must have a letter from Santander saying you might have a valid claim, this is designed to confuse as you will probably feel that you are ineligible after reading it. These are being sent out over a 6 month period.
Ring them and insist that you want to make a claim, eventually if you persist they will ask you to complete a form over the phone.
Do not do this, the form is too complex and needs consideration. Insist on being sent a form. This has a unique registration code, specific to your claim.
When you receive the form check very carefully that the information written on it is COMPLETELY correct.
Sorry, forgot to mention that I have received one of the letters. You are right, the letter basically has bullet points/explanations then ends with "this did not affect your mortgage or we do not believe customers were disadvantaged"
I will ring later this morning and request a form, Dont be surprised to see me back here with a bucket load of questions!!
