Recommendations for a product to tackle a dry, flaky scalp?

For me the only thing that worked was E45 Shampoo (I suffer from scalp psoriasis and very dry skin everywhere else!)

I've tried many of the others i.e. T-Gel etc but this was the only one that worked.
I had a look at the Tgel and was put off by the fact that even though it's meant to be for people with skin problems, it contains SLS< which can exasperate it. I also have scalp psoriasis, ut i am lucky that i can usevirtually any shampoo with no effect. The Naked range from Boots seems to e helping alot and she has had the last lot of Full Marks on last week; so hopefully visitors and flaky skin will stay away now. I shall check properly in the morning, when i do her hair for school.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 SEP £25.77/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. I've bought some of this today & used it for the first time, boy you don't need a lot do you! Reading reviews, a lot are put off by the smell but its nothing compared to some things I've tried. In fact I actually like it. I'm really hoping this helps. Thanks for the recommendation.
Okay, I've now used this twice. It makes the en suite smell all day, but my hair has not felt or looked as good for months! I'm very impressed! Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
hi all
i can totally empathise, had the same problem for years. the main annoying thing was how itchy my head constantly felt!
anyway i have finally found a solution and my tips are as follows:
- dont leave your hair wet. this might sound a bit silly but i never dried my hair after washing it - i'd towel-dry it and leave it to dry naturally. i thought that using a hairdryer would make the scalp drier and therefore worse! but my doctor explained that leaving the scalp moist was in essence allowing bacteria to grow (i might have the science wrong), and ultimately causing a lot of the problem.
- aveda scalp remedy is good. its like a spray you can massage into the scalp. you get it from hairdressers so its quite pricey, but lasts a long time.
- finally what really cleared it up for me was a prescription product the doctor prescribed. then i used the aveda product as maintenance. i can find the name of it if anyone interested.
hope that helps!

I'm the original poster, and DD does this all the time! I bet that is what is causing it too, as it seems to have gone much better since the use of SLS free shampoo and no conditioner ...we are using a tiny it of Organic kids hair moisturiser with olive oil once it's dry. Thanks alot; i will make sure she doesn't leave the towel on any more!GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 Jul £134.25/£150 Aug £119.37/£150 SEP £25.77/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
