Recommendations for a product to tackle a dry, flaky scalp?

Cross posted to OSM Beauty thread

My 10 year old DD as all of a sudden been experiencing a dry flaky scalp. Other than Head and Shoulders, which doesn't work, are there any fab products out there i could use. My older daughter also suffers with it, and i suffer with psoriasis. I don't want to use any prescription products as i had to use these myself as a teenager and they never made a difference. I am going to get some hot oil, as this is meant to help; and I have also tried to encourage her to eat better,as this all contributes to skin health. It could also be her age, with body changes etc etc

TIA

My hubby gets it all year round.

He uses T GEL which is especially for Scalp Psoriasis and is excellent http://www.tgel.com/uk/tgel_products

I do also sometimes treat him to https://www.lush.co.uk/product/6029/Superbalm---45g and use a couple of times a year.

Cheers Sarah. I am going to go to the local shops later and try to pick up Halo and Horns as apparently the Co-op sell it, or see if Boots here stock the Naked range. I will try a combination of everything if it helps.

I've been using Nizoral and it's best Ive tried so far but I'm not sure if it's suitable for children.

Where is this available to buy please? I've just got one from Boots to try from their Naked range; so will see how we get on with that for now. Our Co-op don't stock Halo and Horns!

Another vote for Nizoral I use it on my 14 year old who had a really bad flaky scalp, nothing I tried before this worked.
You can buy it in any pharmacy think its behind the counter so you may need to ask for it. I know you didn't want a perscription Medicine but it is also available on prescription so would save you having to buy something.

Alphosyl (from Boots or online) is really effective - better than T-gel

Thanks ladies, lots of ideas to try. I have just washed her hair with the Naked range and already you can see a massive difference. If it doesn't clear up with this within a week, then i will go down the doctor appointment, medicated route.
