Excellent stuff - we can always do with more rhubarb information in the world - I didn't realise it grew so well in Orkney, glad it does :) very yummy.

    "Rhubarb and Orange"
    1kg rhubarb - roughly chopped
    1kg oranges -
    1.3kg sugar

    Method

    1. Peel the oranges and slice the rind thinly. Squeeze the oranges until you have 375ml juice.

    2. Combine the rind, juice, rhubarb and sugar in a saucepan and stir over a high heat, without boiling, until the sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil then continue to boil, uncovered, for about 45 minutes or until the marmalade gels when tested.

    3. Pour the hot marmalade into hot sterilised jars and seal immediately. Label and date the jars once cooled.

I got about 4 x 1lb jars from that, tastes lush xx

Oh Man KC it grows like a triffid - I'd never seen the likes of it til I moved here!

What fun we had - we didn't have that recipe though so I'll add it to our webpage if you don't mind M21?

Ah grand you've got the recipe - looking forward to hearing how it went.

Well what fun we had with rhubarb indeed and I learnt so many things too (I was just doing the geeky plant lady bit)

And the tastings - my favourite was a beetroot, rhubarb and blue cheese salad.

Oh and the rhubarb sweetpotato and lentil curry

    Oh and the cordial!

    Oh and the.............:rotfl:

A good night was had by all it has to be said, not just me eating alone!

In most exciting news, our reviews went well and we're now fully committed to a nice pay rise and more hours.

However, the even more exciting news is that my first cucumber (squatting in the work tunnels) is ready to pick and the second one is not far off too!

    Hurrah!
