HTC One S crashing Windows Explorer

What it says in the title basically. I plugged my Wildfire in to the PC and it worked fine, I can access the memory card no problem just using Windows Explorer. Unplugged, plugged my new One S in and it takes AGES to open folders in there and when I tried putting mp3s in it said "wait time 13 hours" and I left it there for 10 mins with no change, then Windows Explorer crashed and I had to restart it. Tried again with same problem.
Ideas?
Edited to add: I was only trying to transfer 10 songs

Did you use 'Eject media' from the Windows task bar before removing the Wildfire ?.
If not, then this could be your problem. I happily use an HTC One S on a Windows 7 PC without any problems at all.Never Knowingly Understood.

Logical first step for a new device is to install the USB Drivers .

The drivers did install when I first plugged it in - trying again now and it says they've failedHi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Have you downloaded and installed the latest version of Sync manager or whatever it is now? That should have the latest drivers for the One.0

I installed Sync manager and it hasn't made a difference.
I've had a look for the drivers to uninstall them but they don't seem to be there. I'm looking in Device Manager and I looked under all the sections.
I've just upgraded my phone to the latest version of Android - hopefully this will fix my problems! I've tried it on my PS3 too btw and it didn't know anything was attached.
I've tried different cables too with the same result. Keeping my fingers crossed the update will fix things!Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Upgraded, it worked for about 30 seconds. I was pasting an image onto the phone and all of a sudden it said the folder was empty. And all the previous folders were then empty. And the whole disc was empty!
Unplugged, plugged in again. Same problem as before. AAAARGH.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. you tried dropping out you mirco sd chucking that into pc putting files direct onto that as a thought?
also if that is not showing up stuff you tried reformatting the card in the phone only if not is showing up anything in the pc.0 -
You could try removing all the htc software (sync & drivers) then use a program like ccleaner to scan the registery and remove any obsolete registery keys associated with the htc software, restart your pc and plug your phone back in and let it install the drivers.0
