Happy moving in day Jack. I've been lurking since the start and have so much admiration for you. You've stayed honest and true to yourself all the way no matter how bad it got and I really hope that today is the start of a better and happier life for you and that your son and daughter realise soon just how wonderful their dad really is.

It was a stressful few days with having to leave the rental as perfect as I could while packing stuff. Had to post keys to the agent on the Thursday so it met the agreement as I didn't have time to take keys back on Friday. A friend helped me load the van Thursday night then another friend came over Friday to help move in. Got the keys at 12:30 and got it all in, took 2 loads, swept out the garage at the rental and returned the van by 5pm

Unfortunately the new place had been left not very clean, tops of kitchen cupboards looked like they've never been touched so Friday night ad Saturday was all about deep clean on the kitchen before I could unpack. I won't go on about all the challenges but feels like home now and I've lots of project to get on with.

Thanks again for all your birthday wishes and continued interest and support, it's very up lifting.

I will update when I have any news, want to set the party up once I have an idea of when Decree Absolute will be through although as ex has to apply for it think it may take some time?
    Regards

    JackRS

Well that was a long, hard road but you're over the last hurdle and on the home run in now! Please accept my best wishes for a long and happy future :-)

Gosh, I never thought this day would come! Many many many congratulations Jack, for this outcome, and for staying the course with as much dignity as you have shown.

I am a regular lurker on the thread, but have kept up with all the ins and outs, trial and tribulations and laughter and tears. I am so pleased for you, to finally have your own home and a definite end in sight to this nightmare road you've been travelling.

Just need to have your solicitor's boss write back and say "well, truthfully, we have made a right old mess of handling your case. Here's a refund of all the fees you have paid us until now - have a nice life" and it'll all have fallen into place. Yeah, ok, that last bit's just a fantasy. But hopefully you will get a shedload of compensation or at least a decent refund from them.

All the very best for your future Jack. I will continue to lurk and occasionally stick my two pennyworth in :)
