Last year I was cooking strawberry jam and answered the phone. the pan was well and truly burnt. After soaking it for a week. Still burnt. Someone told me to boil biological washing powder up in it. It really does work. Pan was a good as new. Can't say the same for the jam htough.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Have done this a couple of times  my tried and tested method is to put some coke in the bottom of the pan, put it on a low heat and leave to simmer for about 10 minutes (make sure the coke doesn't dry up lol) and the burnt bits will magically come offITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

I have had my stainless steel saucepans for 46 years and when ever I have burnt something in them (usually spuds) I have filled with cold water and a handfull of salt and left over night and in the morning a fgood scrubb brings it all off.0

Salt and water left overnight or......
Baking soda and water left overnight......
...then boil in the morning.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

My frying pan had some burn marks which I found pretty hard to shift with normal scrubbing and washing up liquid.
I filled the sink with enough kettles of boiled water to cover the entire pan, and mixed some biological soap powder, oxy and soda crystals in. After an hour, and a little rubbing, the pan really did look like new!
Might be worth doing the above for a few hours, for maximum effect.Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 -
I boil up water with bicarbonate of Soda added to it when I burn a saucepan. It has worked everytime for me.0

I've badly burnt a stainless steel pan whilst making jam.
Although it was a cheap pan from LIDLs I don't wish to bin it as it's a good sized one.
Does anyone know how to clean it with using dynamite?0 -
