And DooYoo where you can make some money by writing reviews.
There's a thread about this somewhere on MSE.Your biggest asset is TIME! I'm focused on multi-generational financial freedom.0 -
If they are having problems with people using a small coffee shop as just a waiting area then yes they are right to try and encourage people to turn the seats over.
However, if the signing seems rude, then the customer does have a point to complain.
So in effect, both are right.
i reread and saw that the OP paraphrased what the sign said, did not say what it said exactly. I think OP may be exxagerating a little bit. Look at the topic title, full of hyperbole.0 -
tbh, the OP seems the type of person that exagerates...0

For the benefit of those too stupid to read the whole thread before replying, the OP gave the exact wording in post 14.0 -

Although I am arguing with doughnut on another thread I have to defend him here. They said the OP seems like a person who exaggerates. I don't see why having the exact wording of the letter on post 14 makes them an idiot?
There is no proof that post 14 is an unexagerated factual acount of what happened? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

you mean the "thanks for not waiting long" sign?
OMG! how would anyone get over reading a sign like that? It really puts the conflict in Syria into perspective.0 -
Regardless of the veracity (or otherwise) of the complaint, that's a very unprofessional reply. I agree with the OP's annotations to the reply - if they'd stopped after the first para or two, it would have been fine.
And posting it in the cafe is just passive aggressive. I'd be pretty uncomfortable if I was a customer reading it.Mortgage when started: £330,995

I tend to think this is the more likely situation as well.0 -
Yeah, I could definitely have worded it better - think I got a bit 'emotional' as my husband calls it...
Should also say, I arrived at 11 so not over lunch time it's more that by the time they were finished it would have been a good time to have an early one. I think I'd actually prefer a single sign saying what you suggest or one saying something along the lines of 'if you're here for more than an hour we ask that you order another' - words to that effect anyway! I think if they had a sign somewhere they could draw p***takers attention too without tarring everyone with the same brush it might be more effective.
I'm not too bothered with them displaying the complaint and their reply so long as it's the full lot and not edited in their favour! It's more if they are daft enough to include personal information.
I guess the best thing would be use a flask and save the money to buy a decent lunch elsewhere!0 -
