  • Thanks both. Unfortunately or fortunately, whichever way you want to look at it, I don't have any credit cards - I can't get credit! So if there's no money in the bank I can't spend. I think they call me 'high risk' :)

I've told myself to break up the monotony of cleaning, after every room I clean I can come on here and catch up. Bathroom done so having my 5 minute break before I start on the kitchen.

Well done on cleaning. I did a bit earlier but got fed up. A bank holiday every week sounds good xx

Hello Desperate to be debt free.

Keep your chin up, you WILL get there. It's a horrible journey at times but every payment you are getting closer.

It horrible being skint all the time, not being able to do what you want especially with children but its not the money they will remember, it's the good times on the park or cuddled up reading stories.

I do think Martin:money:should get us all cleaners though as being on here distracts me from what I'm meant to be doing.;)

    EDIT....
I have just noticed the bit saying about your son being a big boy who works........sorry I imagined him being a nipper. Will go away now.:rotfl:

  • Hi parsniphead, thanks for popping in. Yes, DS is 19 and working full time which is a miracle in this day and age. DD is 16 and off to college in September. I'd love to have a cleaner but I'd have to give it a good clean before they arrived.

Have just done the living room and popped the pizza in the oven whilst I clean the hall. I'm getting there slowly but still got a mountain of ironing to tackle when the cleaning is done :/

  • Motivation has well and truly gone today. Just got home from work and the plan for tonight is to finish off some ironing, put the clothes away, get some paperwork down from the attic and check if there are any more ppi's I can reclaim. Off to check the freezer for tonight's mish mash tea.

  • Nothing much to report today. Still waiting for the ppi cheque off legal and general so can't pay anything until I have that.

I have discovered that DS has been paying way too much tax so have written to tax office to ask for a review. DS has said whatever he gets back I can have towards my debt :). Fingers crossed we get a nice little sum.

  • Hi Merlot1975, am still waiting for the cheque but did receive a letter from them today to say they have paid it into my account and should take a few days to clear. Also still managing to make some mish mash meals from the freezer stock. Have got some sausage rolls cooking as we speak.

Nothing much to report today, nothing more been paid off but no debt has been added either which is positive. Am planning a quiet night tonight with the bath, pyjamas and tv.
