Does sending cd abroad need customs declaration?

Never sent a cd abroad before and used a large letter size compliant jiffy bag. I asked for cheapest way to send airmail and PO told me £3.50 with royal mail. Besides this being more than i'd thought I've just mentioned it to someone who said I had to fill in a customs declaration too but PO never mentioned this. I'm now worried it'll end up getting sent back and end up costing me, does anyone know about this ?

CN22 is needed outside Europe mainly. Where is it going?

There's no large letter format for international mail.

just to clarify that point Within the EU means no customs label is needed on this item,

outwith EU customs label is needed (not sure what happens if it does not have one)

So some European countries which are not full EU members do need a customs label, Norway, Croatia for example.
if i had known then what i know now

And yet Jersey and Guernsey need a CN22 and some other exceptions the other way which is why I asked the OP where it is going.

    Norway.

There's no info in post offices anymore you just have to trust the staff as the royal mail website isn't that helpful - I couldn't understand if what i was sending was a letter or a parcel, I couldn't see any definitions of these terms.

Croatia isn't even a part member, but are due from July this year. Norway needs a customs label.

    Read the sticky on postage.

There ARE places within the EU which DO require CN22/23 (which is value dependent and only for Royal Mail)

And having said all this, all you need to do is go to google or yahoo and type CN22 and both search engines come up with the page you need as the first result.

Whilst for this post CN22 is correct (assuming it isnt a rare expensive cd), do not assume this is the customs label for all. It is only for Royal Mail, not courier and is value dependent.
