the blind cleaning is for dust not rust.
The inside of the glass was clean, I agree the corners were not perfectly white, down to the issues we had with mould.
We did not iron the curtains.
I cannot believe that the work that needs doing is going to cost £155.
I personally received a quote for a complete clean, windows, oven, carpets, blinds, bathroom, kitchen, curtains etc for £160, if what they want doing is only a top up clean surely £155 is to much?
I am not trying to get round to just being charged £10, I just want to be charged a reasonable sum.
The TDS says that: the full cost of professional cleaning cannot be requested where the properties cleanliness only required cleaning in certain specific areas rather than a complete clean throughout.
I have lived in may rented properties and this is the first time I have ever had to dispute the charges.
In fact I have never lost any of my deposit.0 -
AGAIN there is a minimum call out charge, same as with any business that comes to you. Given there will be ladders involved so at least two members of staff will be needed for safety. And AGAIN ask for a breakdown of the charges in the quotation, this thread is like the blind leading the blind!
Mould can be removed/ bleached out with mould and mildew spray like Dettox, so you didn't clean the windows properly and they will need redoing.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
I am obviously in the wrong business if you can charge that much for not a lot of work.
It is my understanding (from the TDS) that they cannot charge me the full amount of the cleaning as we have made a good effort to clean the property ourselves.0 -
To be honest, I don't think that the amount quoted is unreasonable. You could argue this until the cows come home, but I believe you'd be wasting yours and the landlord's time. In the same situation I'd accept that £155 deduction and move on.0

just seems like a lot for a partial clean considering we had a quote (in person) for £160 to do everything.0

i replied to you earlier...
i think i mentioned, we were also given quotes for cleaning our flat that the tenants left a mess, and they were all cheap sounding like that until they came out, then it was "no, thats not included in the price, that will be extra, so will that,oh and that..."
we couldn't find a SINGLE company that actually charged anywhere near that cheap, despite advertising "full clean from £120 FOR A 2 BED FLAT".
in the end, it cost £650, which we had to pay out, not knowing if we actually could get it back...
its not true, what they tell you on the phone, and i think that amount is reasonable...
you're lucky, our tenants had to pay £650, and it was still not great after the company had finished, and we had to spend more time cleaning it after its supposed professional clean...0
