can i ask them for the receipt to prove it was pro cleaned when i moved in?0
-
As noted earlier in the thread professional or amateur cleaning is irrelevant, it's the difference between the standard of cleanliness when you moved in to when you moved out. If you signed the inventory then you are bound by the photos and descriptions it contains, you can certainly ask for copies of these photos. If you didn't sign it they will have difficulty proving the initial condition to the deposit scheme.
Carpet cleaning is between you and the company you employed, if the service is not up to scratch you need to address that with the company you cannot just pass the buck.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
i have been given a quote:

Been given a quote by whom, the landlord?0

quote from email:
Further to your email below and the recent check out at xxx, we have been asked on behalf of the Landlord to present a charge to you of £155 for the cleaning oversights only to be rectified, this quote also includes the ironing of the bedroom curtains, cleaning of the blind and the internal windows and frames. The quote for the cleaning has been supplied by xxx cleaning company.0 -
interestingly I got a quote off the same company (when we had enquired prior to moving out) which was £120 for a full clean.0

That is totally irrelevant, don't muddy the waters. Dirt is not wear and tear, yellowing of paint due to UV light and the passage of time is. Sugar soap is superb at cleaning paintwork, or if it's white you can just repaint if you see fit.
The stuff they say is still to be done - windows and ironing and cleaning Venetian blinds - is all quite time consuming, may or may not be covered in a regular clean and anyway a decent whack of the cost is often minimum call out because travel and set up time does not change much. You can ask to see a breakdown but TBH I don't think it sounds that bad. Why is it the insides of the windows? You previously said they were not clean because it rained right after washing them which indicated the outside was the problem?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

The same company had quoted me £120 for a full clean, this is not a full clean.0 -

You said that already, without knowing exactly what a 'full clean' entails (I would not expect ironing nor rust removal!) nor exactly what is in the current quote it's impossible to do more than make general comments. You seem to be stabbing around in the dark for any excuse to extract yourself instead of sticking to the legal position.
Either the blinds are accidental damage on your part or not fit for purpose, rust is not fair wear and tear.
Either the inside of the windows were clean or they were not.
Either you ironed the curtains or you did not. There will be a minimum call out charge even for one task, you don't necessarily get to pay just a tenner or whatever you think is reasonable. Someone has to deal with ironing boards and ladders.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
