Thanks chemist-4-u for addressing my concerns.
Like I said in my previous post I was not implying you were doing anything wrong and certainly not doing it on purpose.

I did go back to your website and this time everything looked OK. In fact, I completed the purchase and still got your very good deal.
Thanks very much.0 -
I haven't read all the thread, so someone may have posted this already, but use of Cetirizine has been associated with dementia in later life. Loratadine doesn't involve this risk and I've got my GP to switch me from one to the other. I find Loratadine slightly less effective, but having seen a family member suffer dementia there's no way I'd risk that to save an itchy nose, even though I go through hell when there's lots of pollen.
There was a lot of scaremongering on this topic and some very inaccurate reporting, but there is genuine cause for concern. The article below gives a good, detailed account.

I'd like to purchase a couple of packs of Loratadine 30s to get through the tree pollen season, but not happy with the p&p when I've been able to get free delivery from other UK online big phama in 2013-14 - MSE is about saving money, not topping up :mad:Not quite sure how this is cheaper. We have offered all hayfever tablets at 69p a box, with long expiry dates.
Postage is £2.95, but if you spend £20, postage is free. Look at our home page if struggling for ideas to top upto £20 spend.
Chemist-4-u is also registered with Quidco and TCBStaffordshire.

As far as I can see, cetirizine is not one of the drugs considered in the study0 -
I can`t believe that there is no reference to the natural remedy.
Very irresponsible of you Rebecca Rutt!! not to post such a simple, natural solution...
Google "stop histamine release naturally - LAMuscle" for better info.
I was told about 15 years ago that I should drink water to relieve histamine/allergic reaction symptoms and I have not taken an anti histamine since.
It was truly a miracle cure!
Try it.
Feel hayfeverish? drink a couple of pints of water. Your body can then flush out the irritant and you will feel much better (after your nose has run a bit...).0 -
Benadryl (Acrivastine) is the only one that really works for me (and it works extremely well). Boots currently has it on buy-one-get-one-half-price - so 48 tablets cost £8.83, beating the Sainsbury's price of £3 for 12.
Quite a bit more than the generic tablets, but those just don't do anything for me.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

I have the same issue cetrizine/lotradine no longer working for me guess my body is immune to it, both still work but only 20-40% of the time sometimes not at all but the other day I tried just one Benadrly relief tablet and about 20 minutes later noticed I could breathe and use my nose again while blocked it was still much better then before!
I checked boots but I think they upped the price as you posted that since its now almost 8 quid so the 2nd pack will work out just under 4 quid making it all roughly 11-12 quid (excuse the lazy math)
Still its the cheapest going but also noticed it available at chemist-4-u for £5.99, works out similar priced too but if your passing a boots store then get it there naturally!0 -
I researched (well for few hours) on some articles regarding allergy or food intolerance test and even docs and medical professions online claimed there is no "short cut" to find out what food is causing allergies or hayfever or any other issues, the best way was food diary and eliminating 1 food at a time for 6-8 weeks.
Id love to try that but just like many id imagine it would be difficult to stay away from dairy products (supposedly the biggest allergy trigger food going) and living without cheese or milk, would be pretty difficult. the other major trigger food was gluten and wheat products, so again tricky to live without rice, bread and pasta I don't fancy living on a diet of just water !
But has anyone done so and has it worked for them ?
I also read amazon reviews regarding air cleaner/purifiers but many suggested it did not improve their hayfever much at all while the odd few suggested it was a miracle, so again hit and miss. I have heard that red laser nose treatment is hit and miss also some reviews on amazon said it works but only for 5-10 minutes....
So far the only hayfever treatments that are working for me is regularly changing my tablets or when my immune system gets use to the tablet switching from cetrizine to lotradine, but am now on benadryl relieft (acrivastine) which is the only one working and also using Nasal decongestant spray (£1 from asda or tesco) I use the spray twice in each nostril about 3 times per day and it makes a major difference to me breathing and feeling normal as can be but this combo is my only cure at the moment and its a godsend !0 -

Yes. I used a diet plan that lists foods allowed on each day (eg, lamb, grapes) and you just make up something from the ingredients listed. We found -after about 4 weeks- that she reacted to chocolate and chocolate-like coatings.0
