    HI pania

Your OH sounds lovely, lucky you. worth moving across the country for and as a bargain bonus, you get Hypno as a near-neighbour! I'm so envious of you two and your forthcoming laptop session. I wouldn't dare try matched betting without someone to talk me through it in person.

Working in the cricket club bar sounds good for meeting people but would they pay? I used to help out at the club where my dad and brother played and it was all voluntary. Good fun though.

It takes time to meet people, particularly if you're shy, but you'll get there. We moved here five years ago and it took me ages to make friends, even though I've got children which in theory helps. The best thing I did was to join a cycle club that goes out on rides on Tuesday evenings in the summer. There were some nice people and I felt much more settled after that having some friends that were 'mine' and not just parents of the children's friends.

Have a good Sunday, good luck with the decorating.

    Hi pania
Don't quite know why I didn't catch up with your thread nearer to the beginning - its sort of hard for me to start new things. But I recently realised how helpful it is for me to read the diaries, so I started on a couple more - you and brainfreeze - and I'm really glad I did. This thread is a lot of fun! I've been in and out of the garden reading it - met DP, started to growl at your OH and then went awwwww, bless, when it got all nice and soppy - very impressed that in the middle of this you're still repaying debt like nobody's business.

I think I'll have to snowball my debts properly - they're so oddly shaped, I've never bothered (£2500 on a 0% CC, an interest only mortgage of £43000, a Northern Rock loan at 5.7% fixed, and a French mortgage at god knows what rate finishing god knows when - I've never even included that in my thoughts). Yep, I see a visit to whatsthecost coming up tonight. Rats, I was going to watch a tape of Northanger Abbey. Actually, rather than do either of those, I'm going to mooch around on mse some more and then make myself do some more gardening (or "hacking down weeds and digging up the roots" as its known around here). Good to finally "meet" you.

Hey karma! thanks so much for you comments above, is really nice to know that as well as being a good support to come on here and blurt it all out that peoiple get some enjoyment out of reading it!
I fell off the wagon BIG style and it is very hard to clamber back on and confront things again but boy i'm so glad that i did.
If you need a kick up the bottom motivation wise, would be more than happy to start some sort of challenge or support to keep us both motivated. And snowballing those debts is a great start. felt so good to realise that it wasn't all pointless money adn my DFD was an awful lot closer than i thought it was going to be!
DP bless him is my saving grace. he's my sanity in the middle of a mad world and i would not be without for that world. I've had him since 6 months old and fought tooth and nail during the hard times to keep him with me. It's amazing how much pleasure and comfort an animal can bring.
OH and i have had some crazy moments (refer back to tesco argument!) but he is also my strength and wellbeing.
Hands are covered in lemon paint (dried of course!) study looking much more welcoming, just need 3 coats of paint on new desk now so best get back off to it!
Thanks again karma has made me smile.

Scaredy! you've suddenly come to life with the motivation, welldone you! let us now how you get on with the ebay items finishing tonight, think i may have a bit of healthy competition on my hands!:T sorry to hear you're so tired, maybe a nice relax in the bath and an early night could be a nice idea.

well i've found more stuff to ebay during the major study clearout so will get started on that poss tomorrow. got a girl who bought my diving jacket for £40 friday week ago, not paid and not responding to any of my emails... sent her a really nice one explaining if she was waiting for the money that was no worries etc etc but no joy!
On a good note though i now have a lovely place to work in!:T
Yes have considered mystery shopping, but each time i go to sign up i end up on DFW instead!! he he:rotfl:

Hi seaxwyn, Yep hypno as a near neighbour is a great bonus to moving here! starting to think maybe we should set up a conference call from said laptop sesh. Would have you, BA and loads of others to. :D

My sister is a little like that with her daughter, has got to meet loads of parents but they just talk about their kids when they're together. Nice to have friends you can get away from it all with. I love the idea re the cycle club. I know wymondham has one to. E-mailed secretary of the local running club but no reply so kinda knocked that one ont head. Cricket club would pay so i'm going to investigate during home game next sat, watch this space!!

Good to hear someone else has gone through the change of location thingy, starting to feel much more positive now and ready to get out there and go for it!!
Anyway sorry for rabbiting guys. must be all the paint fumes scrambled me noggin!:rotfl:

Hey Pania, about the running club, Wymondham RR is a great club and I know a couple of people who run with them. I don't think they stand on ceremony so why not just turn up and say Hi? Don't they run on a Monday evening? Could you get there tomorrow and introduce yourself, go for a bit of a run and see how you get on!
