I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that at least one of them wins. £50 is so much! But will you be able to stop them spending it on rubbish?
I've paid out the Yellow Pages money to my brood and the oldest two have spent it on clothes while tomorrow morning I have to drive DD2 to a pet shop ten miles away to spend hers on mice. At least she'll pay for them in cash, the last mice she bought went on my credit card. Even at the time pre-lbm I knew that was crazy.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Mad, possibly, did i think you were offering to do my ironing, most definately!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
only kidding, and the ironing board is up, i have a bottle of waggledance beer, greys anatomy on at ten and no other half! am in heaven!! if only could have DP out of his cold field and curled up on the rug i'd be having a perfect evening!!:Ddebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
hey seaxwyn, I love mice!! would love some but OH won't allow it, hope your little one enjoys them and they enjoy their paradise accomodation!
Maybe we should start a "whats the most bizarre thing you've bought on credit card" thread. could be quite amusing.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Thankfully £50 is a huge amount of money to the children so if they are lucky enough to win any of it they will be putting it towards their next pair of skis or something. They are fairly good with money (never having any of it does help!) but I am quite tempted to swipe it from them - for example next weekend is costing me £64 in race entry fees alone, that is without petrol and we will have to stay in a travelodge or something because of the distance!
Pania, I hope you have a good evening, the beer does sound better than the ironing though. I think I will make the most of MSE being down and will go for an early night at 9!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. HI Pania
I'm very fond of mice too and am looking forward to the new additions tomorrow. We're discussing names so I'll add Pania and Hypno to the list :rotfl:Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

:T :T :T to seaxwyn, (panias the name of a mermaid in NZ mythology not the mad lady from wymondham as hypno says! may be more tempting as a name knowing that :rotfl: )
Have a great early night hypno, i HAVE to stay up til 11, is mandatory. the best tv prog around is on at 10! and tonights the night she makes the decision which guy she goes for, may be a weepie!!
The children are v v lucky having all that paid for them, so i say SWIPE IT!!:rotfl: would be great for them if they won. :T
right i am off, i am ironing, i am going to be good and get some done (laptop currently balancing on iron rest end of board, bad very bad,)

Hi there
Pania - thanks for that explanation - it's a beautiful name and by coincidence two of my daughters have aquatic names (one even has the name of a famous mermaid) so a little mousey Pania would fit in well.
Hypno - in that case I would definitely make them give you some of the money towards their skiing activities. It's really good that you pay for all that while living on mayonnaise yourself! They could keep back a tenner for themselves. That's my suggestion anyway.
My kids are pretty good with money stuff too (and DD3 funds her own mouse habit) but DDs 1&2 have suddenly gone crazy about shopping. I hope it's just a teenage hormones thing and won't last.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Sorry I don't have any watery names to add to the list
My kids do appreciate what they have, thankfully - they know what we go without in order that they can ski, but lots of the children on the ski scene are basically spoilt brats who have parents who pay for skiing just because of the "status" thing
Oh Daddy I *must* have a new pair of skis, my others are nearly a month old.....type thing. Always with Mums wearing very expensive ski gear even though they can't ski at all, and Dads shouting at the kids to ski faster with the comments "we are paying for the very best coaching, the least you can do is to win medals".......
rant over, see you in the morning xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
