I'll hang on to it. She doesn't look to be selling multiples, but she did say she did. Hmmm. Thanks again.

Good result Nicky. I hope your feedback will reflect her complete unhelpfulness ;)

Hello again - an update. Pullip - that's exactly how I felt, so I stood my ground. She's flat out refused to accept that she was wrong, and offered half postage as a refund, which I refused just on principle. I just now escalated the case, and received an email within 5 minutes from ebay to say they'd refunded me.

Thanks everyone for your input - I'm £4.49 richer!

Oh! What do I do with the top? I'll be out of pocket again if I send it back :o
Don't return it, ask for them to fund you to pay return postage as they are legally entitled to do and then send it if they do. I doubt they'll bother.

I think I'll just hang fire. I can imagine her coming back in a month or two asking me to send it, expecting me to have flung it.

Pullip, I hate giving neg feedback, but I think it's deserved in this case.

I'd send a message asking them to send you £X to cover return postage, and if they don't reply withing 14 days, just give it to a charity shop.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Is this seller selling a lot of brand new items of the same type?

If so, they may be a business seller, and if so they must accept returns, and cannot withhold postage.

The selling a lot makes them sound like they could be an unregistered business seller.

    Totally irrelevant.

On Ebay no-one can withhold postage.

This sounds just like a case I had, with a seller refusing to accept a return on a garment that was patently not a size 12. I got a total refund from ebay, never heard from the seller again or got asked to return it. Someone somewhere benefited from this transaction via a charity shop.

A point though, if you sell as well, it would be worth blocking this person from your own auctions in case they wanted to get nasty.

I do very little selling, but thanks for the tip. I wouldn't have considered that.

So when ebay refunds buyers like this, do they just take the money off the seller?
