Hello
Went to the T film yest, surprisingly enjoyable...my DDs loved it..
My kids are also keen on inline skating as well as bike rides. (But we do live in a city so depending where you are, may not be as easy if you're more rural) Do you know of anyone who has them that you could borrow for a bit? So you can try them out and see whether they get on with them? Here, you can also hire them for not too much. I have to run to keep up with them which is no bad thing...
If it's raining I am a big fan of card games...so many to choose from (can help with numeracy) and very good basis for future skills( if you get good very fine way to supplement the student income :rotfl:)
Will think about it and get back to you. DD1 has just signed up to a free careers summer school so that's one week sorted. The other weeks when we are not on holidays, they are going to my sisters and then my mums...so it's a 'family distribution exercise' which they love.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Brizzled, we are rural which is where the problem lies, if we lived in town lots of free things available, but by the time I've factored in petrol and parking it starts to get expensive, w have lots of board games for wet days, monopoly is a favourite and usually lasts several hours. I laughed at the skating my DDs feet do not belong to her body she has no control over them and is always tripping up, she is awful at ice skating(bambi on ice). They are spending a few days with grandparents but these are the only relatives that have them. I've spoken to DH about taking a few days off work towards the end of the holidays when the boredom really does kick in and hopefully we can have a few cheap days out, I find the summer hard work because its DH busiest time at work and he works really long days so I'm almost a single parent from July to september.
I'm sure we will find things to do just 6 weeks seems a long time.0 -
Look up geocaching great fun for older kids and adults alike. Gets them outside and challenged and it's free.
See if you have any rspb or country parks that do ranger days for free.Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

Thanks mint, had a quick look at geocaching, will have a proper look when I get a minute, looks like something we could enjoy as a family.
I have been on the snow ball calculator and it has given me a date of Dec 2018 to be debt free, this is too long as far as I am concerned so I need to get my backside into gear and knock some months off.
The sun came out today after a horrid start so managed to get some more washing dried outside, just means there is a load more ironing to do, will try and get some done this evening whilst the footie is on.
Listed 3 more items on ebay, only 99p items but hopefully they will sell and its a few more pence to throw at the CCs, need to get myself back into doing surveys, I have been doing some but not all as I've been so busy, so come the summer hols I will have no excuse.
Need to think of some more money making ideas.0 -
Ooh yes, how could I have forgotten geocaching...excellent idea. My 2 love that and there are loads all over the place aren't there, Mint, and if there aren't you can create your own.
Yes, deffo, try it.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I've had a look at geogaching and we are going to have a go at it over the summer, especially as there are some not far away.
No TT this morning account is all rounded down. No ebay sales overnight either, do people not realise i have debt to pay off :rotfl:.
Last full week at work, hopefully we will be beginning to wind down, I'm just so ready for a break now, starting to think of things that I need to do at home, I want to go through the house room by room decluttering and deep cleaning, I may even paint a couple of rooms if funds run to it.

Afternoon, the sky has turned very grey here and looks as though it is going to rain
just my luck when I have a load of washing to hang out.
Couple of spends this morning £25 on fuel and £1.75 on loo roll that I forgot at the weekend, also posted an ebay parcel but that cost was already covered by the buyer.
Very frugal lunch of poached eggs (laid by my girls) on whoopsed toast followed by a freebie cereal bar:D.
postie also brought me a freebie tube of c0lgate toothpaste.
Need to start my jobs shortly and pick kids up from school, must also ring friend and see how she is doing.0 -
Morning, we seem to have had more rain overnight, uming and arghing over whether to hang out washing.
Bank accounts checked, child ben gone in so a TT of 20p to uniform savings, spendy day today as farrier is coming so that leaves me £45 lighter, also need to pay min payment on Barc card £142.
DS has a sports event after school so I will not be home until after 5 tonight, so its an easy tea of stir fry.

Have a good day
I was trying to look at green redeem the other day. How does it work? Is it only if your council has signed up? I couldn't see anything worth doing."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi Jwil, green redeem you make pledges and take quiz to earn points that can be redeemed for various money off vouchers.
Small ebay sale - £3.86 to uniform pot.0
