Evening all.
Spent the morning pottering around the house catching up on housework and making bread.
Sold a couple of items of ebay, making around £35 after fees and have a nother couple of items ending tomorrow although they don't have bids at the minute so might not sell:(.
Had a lovely time at the hairdressers, had a good gossip and my hair looks lovely and I feel a lot less scruffy.
Nipped into T3sco near hairdressers and bought a few top up items to get us through till tomorrow when I will go to ald1 after DS has played in his footie match. Spent £2.14 in Mr T and £45 at hairdressers:eek:.
Hope everyone is ok.x.0 -
Please don't feel guilty about going to the hairdressers, you certainly deserve it.
I'd bin your so called 'friend', you don't need ungrateful drama queens in your life. I know it can be easier said than done.
Well done on the decluttering.:)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello young lady.
Oh how the post about your so called friend hit a cord with me.... I had something similar happen to me recently where I was getting grief from someone as I hadn't been in touch. I work full time and doing a masters in the evening - barely have time to speak to people I live with and told them so, although via the cowards way - text messaging. They haven't been in touch since which I am upset with but I've come to accept it now and its hardly the end of the world.
I had sent a Christmas present for the children - not their fault - and finally got a thank you note when I sent a text hoping to find out whether they had received them. There was nothing for my little one and hubby didn't get a birthday card in November which I had not realised. I hate pettiness!!!!
You are far better off without her and look how much stuff you have done in the last few weeks.
Take care and have a great week.

Hey Penny
Just catching up with you!! The post about your 'friend' struck a nerve with me too. We all have one. In my case my marriage was in pieces and she jumped on me, was the best person ever, although could not understand why I wanted to give things a go and really dug at Him about everything, calling him a lot of names when she really didn't know him. I was spending £40 a week on train/bus fares to go and see her, only to have her dump us in the car and go OUT somewhere I had just travelled far past to get to her, incurring more expense with coffees etc... I tried to let things drift a bit, as I had a lot on my plate.. and I got a text message. It said 'I used to have a friend named Lilty...' - this was the second such text I received. When I replied I was sorry but I have been busy and phones work 2 ways, she said 'but you know I am rubbish with keeping in touch with people' :rotfl: - eventually after ignoring her for a while I told her that I couldn't afford to keep going over to see her week on week on buses and trains. She took this as me saying she should drive over and collect me each week and laid into me. I let her get on with it and we haven't spoken in just over a year. She takes people for mugs. Including her husband who works his fingers to the bone keeping her in £1000's of *stuff* a month because she is bored at home.
Anyways enough of that. Just thought i would say I feel much better a year on for having given up. I have other friends who have become better friends in the time since I stopped running after her.
I am amazed with your decluttering although I must have topped 100 things today alone :rotfl: - hell for leather on the house in prep for guests! xx

Hi pwps. I have just read through most of your thread and I have to say I am impressed with your dedication to becoming debt free. I do wonder though about your OH. Is he on board with the debt busting? Maybe he does stuff in the background, but it seems to be all on you at the moment and that doesn't seem fair.

Wow mags, you are a busy lady. Just doing a masters alone would be hard work.
I also met up with said friend before xmas to give presents for her and her children, I didn't even get a card back.
Thanks for posting.x.0 -

Hi Lilty,
It just gets draining doesn't it, I hardly ever get invited to her house, we always must go somewhere to eat/drink, or she comes to mine and I pay for everything.
Decluttering has come to a stop at my end:(, no motivation.
Take care.x.0 -

Hi Chev, thanks for posting.
DH is very on board with debt busting, most of the diary is about me and what I'm doing.
Dh works long hours, up to 70 a week. But when he is home he is handy at DIY and will try and make/fix rather than buy. He has just recently paid off his overdraft of £800 :T.
The surveys and ebaying do fall on me, simple because I'm the one at home more and I have school hols off.
Sorry what I'm trying to say is yes he is very on board.
Thanks for posting.x.0 -
Afternoon all.
House is peaceful at the minute, DS is outside kicking a football about and DH has taken DD riding, I'm supposed to be ironing but have a quick mooch on here first.
Nipped into Sainsbugs before taking DS to his footie match this morning, spent £5.30 but used £5 of nectar points so only 30p in cold hard cash. After footie went to ald! and spent £27, hopefully I shouldn't need to buy anything else until payday on Friday.
No bids on eb&y items:( and still waiting on payment for an item I sold yesterday.
Hope everyone is ok.x.0
