    Good going today Hun ;)
  • Hello all.

Well this morning has been a bit of a lazy one and I can't seem to get going, plans for today were to go and do a food shop and also to go and look for a new front door as ours is leaking, thankfully we have a stone floor in that area and it only leaks when it rains super heavy, but it does need sorting, we don't have to pay for it, the farm will but we do need to go and choose which one we want (within a set budget).

None of the above got done as to be honest I could not be ar$3d and a spent the morning watching The Bletchley circle, I wanted to watch it when it was on the TV but didn't get to (DH probably didn't want to watch it).

DH did the animals with DD, they have made there own lunch and DD is currently sorting out her drawers and wardrobe, she was recently given a huge bin bag of clothes from an older friend of hers and there were some lovely items, but DD now has more clothes than room for them, so task for her is to sort all her clothes out, items she has outgrown/ does not like into my room for me to check before ebaying/charity shop/bin, items she wears now to go away and spring/summer items to be packed into a box into the bottom of her wardrobe ready for warmer weather, DD is also to write me a list of what she has for spring/summer and we will work out what she needs, I'm then going to give her a budget and at Easter take her shopping for the items needed, I do roughly know what she needs and have a budget of £40 in mind, but I think it will be good for her to have to work out what she needs and having to budget. DS will not be buying his own things for a while yet, he would blow the lot on one football shirt :rotfl:.

CHecked banking and no change there, today will be a NSD with not going shopping, decided we would have Jkt spuds for tea.

    Hope everyone is ok.x.
  • Quick question hope someone can help.

DH has a barc card he has had a letter through the post today offering him a balance transfer 0% for 23months, question is could he transfer my CC balance to his card?

He is out this afternoon or I would have got him to call them now, I'm just being impatient but would love to transfer my halifax card to it, it would make such a huge difference to shifting our debt.

    Hi Pennywise,

I think thats a fab idea letting DD have the budget for clothes and making a list of what she needs. That will give her a valuable lesson for the future about buying what she needs etc. I did have to laugh about DS with the football shirt!!!

I think you can transfer the balance so long as its not bcard to bcard. I think you can do it online if DH has online set up xx

  • I have transfered cc balances from DH's name to mine before. Most times it was not a problem, but once (and I can't remember if it was Bcard or not sorry), I had to make a money transfer to my bank account from the new 0% card and then make a payment to clear DH's credit card from there, as they didn't accept transfers from other named accounts. This wasn't a problem as it was still done at 0% with no additional fee, but you'd need to check that before you did it Xx

  • Afternoon all, Still waiting for DH to ring about CC, will give him until tomorrow and then give him a nudge.

Decided this morning to order a Veg box, got a leaflet throught he door last week, offering 4 weeks of offers, so I know its not the most MSE thing to do but I'm hoping it will save my sanity a bit as before Christmas I was really struggling juggling everything especialy food shopping as I literally drop DS at school go to work and then rush home from work to pick DS up from school it is then a 12mile round trip to the nearest shop.
I could choose a Tuesday or Friday delivery, so I opted for Friday as this is the worst day for having nothing in and saying sod it let's have a takeaway, I'm going to try it for the next 4 weeks using the different offers and see how we get on and also see if I can stay in my £75 weekly grocery budget, I know its not as cheap as going to aldi but ha ho, so I've ordered a mixed fruit and veggie box and also sausages and bacon for £21, as I thought even if we have nothing in food wise I can throw together sausage egg and chips for tea followed by fruit.

Had an email from amazon with a code for a free ebook, could only choose from 6 titles, so choose a murder/thriller book and have downloaded to phone, gives me something to read when I'm sat in car waiting for children to come out of various clubs.

Managed to get bits doe around the house, cleaned out G pigs, 3 loads of washing, decluttered 2 drawers in the dining room, made a beef casserole and a victoria sandwich cake, chopped logs and filed baskets back up, done a couple of surveys and I'm back up to 4650points on y0ug0v, so fingers crossed I reach payout by the end of the month.

Hope everyone is ok, take care.x.
  • I like the idea of the veg box - we have some round near us but have never used them. We have a greengrocers 2 villages away and I love going there and picking lovely fresh fruit and veg - it is mainly cheaper than the supermarkets.

You have managed loads today - apart from collecting some bits from Freecycle we have played board games all day.

I am on 4335 with Yougov - I was lucky as I won 2000 points last month and I only had a payout in August. I am hoping to cash out in February. I am concentrating on doing all the Yougov surveys just to see how quickly it builds up.
  • Hi EE, the town I used to live close to had a lovely little fruit and veg shop, sadly Mr Tesc0 built a store and not long after the shop closed, along with many other little shops. I'm actually disliking supermarkets more and more and the way they operate, especially Mr Tesc0 and a$da.

Youg0v seem to have got a lot better and I seem to get a steady stream of surveys from them, shame you have to get to such a high amount to withdraw though.
