Is it just me or does anyone else find it annoying when....

My details come from Paypal so I only had to type my name and address once.
It does annoy me when I'm on my phone and I have to enter details as it's too much work to capitalise words!
Well these details would be the ones that were entered when signing up to eBay so would only have to be entered once. I understand what you mean about the additional effort when entering details via a phone but I guess I just consider it necessary!
I can't help but feel that people just don't understand the use of capitalisation these days. I had it drummed into me at school and am beginning to think that it's probably not even covered in curriculum anymore!0 -
If you think that's bad, one of my buyers had this -
(I've changed the name and address to protect their identity
)
JohnSmith JohnSmithJ
12SmithJohnSmith1 London Road
It took me a while to figure out who and where to send it to! How can people mess up a simple thing as entering their address and name so much?!
Hahahaha that is classic! Well one of the ones I had today was like this (again, not real details!)
fred smith
123 capital street
london
flat no 4
se153cs
Why on earth would the flat number be after the city?!
If I had left the address as it was and the item didn't arrive, I suppose I would have had to refund and claim via the RM but I don't even think that the RM could be blamed for an item not arriving when the address looks like that!0 -
I'll stick my head up above the parapet to own up to that one at times.

I wouldn't dream of doing it when writing letters etc. but because I enter lots of on-line competitions which I'm unlikely to win, it doesn't matter what details I put in, and it's quicker when autofill doesn't work to just type without bothering about whether it's upper or lower case. So the majority of forms I fill in online are probably all lower case, and then it gets to be a habit which I do without thinking.
Which is a bit hypocritical as it does bug me in RL if people don't write properly.
*scurries off to check ebay details.*
Lol well thanks for being honest, I guess! :rotfl:
I understand about the online competitions - if you're entering that many, then it isn't too much of an issue as saving time is probably more important!
But when it comes to things being sent through the post, I just feel it's common sense to have items addressed in the proper manner.
I find the use of plain English and grammar etc, quite shocking in general life as well - quite often at work I will receive emails from Senior Managers which make no sense at all. One manager does not understand what a paragraph or a full stop is so quite lengthy emails will come through in one huge paragraph with minimal full stops or commas.
To me, this leaves a somewhat negative impression of the person and will always stick in my mind. As they say, first impressions last

The thing that REALLY annoys me is when people only write in capitals - I do not like being shouted at!
Ohhhh and I also hate the current text thing on eBay messages of x's at the end of their message and being called hun, chick, babe etc - if you are contacting a business then act professionally and not like you are speaking to a friend.
But back to the OP I don't amend any details of the buyers address as I don't have time - it takes long enough to do my labels using my software and then cutting them up etc without having to check each address but then again we do sent out around 2,500 to 3,500 items a week.0 -
Yes it does annoy me too.
I also get annoyed when, as has happened three times now, buyers have made nasty little remarks to me when they get their parcel pointing out that I have spelt their name, or part of their address wrong. Impolite of me yes, but since I print the name and addresses from their PayPal account it is hardly my fault the spelling is wrong!
I got negged for exactly that!
Buyer blocked!
If you copy and paste addresses (and names) into word for labels (which I do but I don't sell that much) you can highlight the block of text then edit it to capitalize each word.
Doesn't sort the postcode out, though.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Oh yeah, that's another thing! I've had loads of messages on eBay recently where the buyer has put xxxx's at the end! What is that all about?! Why would you put kisses on a message to a stranger?! :mad:0 -

My point exactly!
I wouldn't dream of doing it. I actually find it really rude - you wouldn't do the same to Tesco or Argos customers services etc so why to a seller to eBay and or Amazon etc?0 -

Hahahaha :rotfl: now there's a thought!
Dear Mr Argos
I bought a Hoover from you last week and it is now not working, please advise what what I should do.
Thank you xxx
It's just so wrong! :mad:0 -
I never bother changing the address label, if thats the details the customer has initially put into eBay then I'm going to assume thats the information that they feel will result in them receiving their parcels in a timely manner.
If it doesn't, ah well, I'll take the neg/crappy stars and move on with my life, unconcerned!0
