  • Hi,
Think i may answer my own question here....and this may have been asked previously...is the current £15 summer holidays different to the previous £9.50 holidays in that I have a sun reference number for the £9.50 holidays (and i recieved a form in the post) however this is the first time I have applied for the £15 holidays, and when I put in said reference number it is none recognisable.

    Are they two seperate deals?

    Thanks for any information

Each priority ref number is only valid for the promo it was sent for !

you cannot then try and use it for future promos

anyone can book online now using the sunbookonline.co.uk site ,without the need for a priority code

I've just had my Skegness Butlins confirmation too and nearly passed out! my bill is for £92 on top of the £60 already paid for a three night break in term time when we can only stay 2 nights because of school. I've not been charged for meals, its self catering but I booked without a priority code and there wasn't the option to select half board.

Did you select half board when you booked?

I've just got off the phone from Butlins trying to get the bill down and you can deduct linen and take your own and can go without entertainment passes but passes on a daily basis are loads more for 1 day than I've been charged. I even explained we could only stay 2 nights so can we only pay 2 days service charge but have to pay for all three nights.

I wouldn't have booked for term time had I known we'd have to pay service charge for the 3rd day, the sun does say its per night so had assumed I would only pay for 2. I need to either put it down to experience and be wiser next time or take the kids out of school - which I don't really approve of - to get my money's worth.

I think you might be able to change from half board but good luck getting through as I waited 20 minutes for them to answer.
Thing is it's not Butlins fault you cannot stay for the 3rd night ( and they won't / can't book it out for one night ! )

    oh wow
the Butlins passes are now £50 for the 4 nights for 4 people
and the power charge is £37.80 extra
plus because of my mobility issues we've upgraded to a silver ground floor closer to amenities for £64
    so in total its 211.80

bringing my own linen as usual , and I think I get refunded £15 on showing my blue badge.
compared to £460-ish at the same time for 4 people

must be paid in one months time !!

Yes, I realise that but I have already paid for the room. On the invoice they list the service charge as for power, we can't use any power if we aren't there.
It is made clear you have to pay for the break but as the "service charge" is quoted on a per night basis I assumed we would only pay for the nights we are actually there. If you have to pay for the 3 nights it should really be quoted per break. They quote the entertainment passes per break.
Anyway I know now so won't fall foul to it again.

I'm also paying £92 extra ..... but £151.85 for 3 nights at Skegness during term time in July - personally I think its a bargain considering how much it normally costs!

Does anyone actually pay full price? If they had no trouble getting bookings at brochure price they wouldn't participate in the sun offer.

I've decided to go without the entertainment passes and hope for good beach weather. If the forecast doesn't look good nearer the time I'll ring a couple of days before hand and add them.

Got my Pontins confirmation too and that's a more reasonable £59.60 in extras, for 4 days in August. Though I must admit I am a bit worried about what it will be like, the accommodation doesn't sound great but I also got a free upgrade to a two bedroom apartment. The 1 bedroom I was initially allocated would mean all four of us in one ensuite bedroom with a mini kitchenette (may as well just call them bedsits).

Mind you, the last time I went to Butlins Skegness was the week it burnt down in 1974, surely neither of these breaks can be as bad as that!

Because I've been playing around with the sunbookonline site to try and find whats left the sun have sent me 5 priority codes through for the ones I didn't book for fear of what I was paying for. If anyone needs a priority code let me know, there's not much left but at east you can see what you're paying for on the priority site.
