    Hi everyone
I hope you are all doing well.

I am absolutely shattered at the moment,(14+2) I feel lethargic and can barely drag myself out of bed. If i'm being perfectly honest with myself I am feeling a bit depressed! There are so many changes going on at the moment and I just feel I can't cope with them very well at the minute. I would love to just hibernate until everything has settled down. I usually love change, must be the hormones.

On a positive note, I think I felt baby last night 'light bumping' inside my tum...It is my 3rd so not impossible.

    Hope you all stay well

    Mel x

Mel I felt just like that because I think your hormones are all over the place but maybe not VISIBLY pregnant so people don't treat you differently. It DOES take a lot out of you at that early stage. Just thought I would let u know you are definitely not the only one who feels that way! i think I spent as much of that part of my pregnancy this time round in bed!

Has anybody looked into having a home birth. I really feel it's what I'd prefer but when I asked my doctor yesterday she genuinely seemed not to have a clue what the procedure is. She didn't seem anti it or anything, she just said that as far as she knew I'd have to pick a hospital and work it out with them.

I looked it up on the NHS site and got some information on what maternity services are available near me. And Kingston has mid-wives trained for home and water births, but what do I do next?

Oh I'm going to miss doing that as we don't have to do it this time around!! :D

Been scouting around online for Moses baskets...my friend lent me one for Poppy (hers was a really lovely Mamas & Papas one) but I gave it back one week before I found out I was expecting and its already been lent to someone else! :rotfl: .

'Jennywren' (who is overdue at the min!) was hoping for one on this thread and I'm sure 'izoomzoom' on the parenting thread had one last year. Perhaps you could post over there?

Hi, sorry I don't know how far you are along. But doctors these days have nothing to do with pregnancies, it is all done through your midwife. When you have you booking in appointment (usually at 8wks) mention it to your midwife who will also let you know if you are in the safe categorie to have one. She will also be able to talk you through the procedure, may even have a leaflet or two to give you.

    I keep thinking about it...

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

Sorry to be stupid, but how do I get a booking in appointment? Do I call a hospital and ask? I'm just very newly pregnant, 4 + 5.

i'm having a home birth in a few weeks. 36 weeks today!
what do you want to know?

you get a booking appointment with the mw via your gp. ring them up and ask to make an appointment with the mw usually in weeks 6-9
  • Shopaholic thanks but you will have to remove the code from this thread cos vertbaudet does not allow their codes to be on this site, and all codes must be on the codes board;)

BTW got a bag full of stuff from the charity shop for £1 :)

re. home birth, planned one for my Daughter who was my first but ended up going in to be augmented (contractions were sloooooow)
