Poor Agutka, I hate that panicky breathless feeling. Have a nice long drink and put your feet up love! I had an awful dream much earlier in my pregnancy about a friend's child drowning while I was meant to be looking after him - definitely a 'bad mother' thing, it was horrible.

I'm so tired, I woke ridiculously early feeling worried that the baby hadn't moved, but of course I was asleep (as was baby) so why I was panicking I don't know. Anyway, as you all know once you start worrying you have to feel it moving before you can stop, so I got up and tramped around and drank cold water. Then it started squirming so I went back to bed but couldn't sleep because it was wriggling ...

Anyway, today's restful mat leave will consist of making some soup and a crumble for dinner, possibly dusting and washing the stairs, and putting away the laundry (first time for months I've managed to get the laundry basket properly empty!). Might also repack the hossie bag - had a few ickle BH contractions, no other signs of baby trying to make a swift arrival, but better safe than sorry!

Hi, have lurked on here for a while now. I'm due on Sunday and getting very imapatient. Everyday I wonder if today is the day... bizarre I seem to have pains during the night and then nothing when I wake up... anyway just wondering if anyone else has noticed how many cleaning products ads there are on daytime tv... do you think they are playing on our nesting instincts??

Emma, I think the best answer is - before you go to hospital! Helpful..:rolleyes: I am planning on packing mine at any point I find some spare space in the house, as I have been buying bits and pieces, apart from a nightie. Which brings me to my other dream last night. I was due to have an operation in a birthing pool (me and Jack from Stargate , ooh) but before I settled in I had to drag my dad to the nearest cheapo shop to find a nightie for the hospital stay. So it's playing on my mind...

Eels, and every other one of you with your cute little chores called 'nesting'. I NEED a team like Kim and Aggie to come to my house. We're trying to clear stuff out, but lately it just gets moved about a lot, creating an almighty mess. Last night I was wandering if, should I need to call an ambulance, it would be okay for me to wait outside, as don't want anyone coming in!! Can I be any lazier??

janinegr, stuff always happens at night - it's your body's way of keeping you exhausted before you go into labour. Cheat by sleeping in the day instead...

I am cleaning my house at a real pace! but i have 9 weeks left to go and im thinking im gonna hve to do it all over again! i have given away bags of stuff on freecycle and we have done two runs to the tip. since getting pregnant we have redecorated kitchen and bathroom and obviously the nursery-to-be. the furniture arrives on friday am looking forward to getting that in.
maybe if ive given the house a good clean i can just keep upto it daily with a vac and polish till baby arrives?!

also im now starting to think more of labour and ohmygod this baby has to come out somehow - and im obsessed by whether people have gone overdue or were early or on time with baby - i dont want to go overdue im not very patient and dont want all the inducing

I'm in that sorting out phase at the mo and my poor OH is having to do so much stuff cos I can't lift things or reach things that are high up I'm very popular on my local Freecycle though I still have loads to do though and haven't even started on things like hospital bag or any of those practical things but I figure I've got a few weeks left (fingers crossed) and I have most of the stuff around the house somewhere...

Hospital back's been sort of half packed since I was around 34 weeks (MW was very keen we had it all ready!), then properly packed at 37 weeks, and now I know it'll be a section I think I need to revise some of it. DH insists 10 vests and 30 nappies is too much to take for baby - with a 4 day stay planned I'm thinking we're going to need a LOT more!

My OH is getting a bit sick of having to do all the jobs he's managed to put off for months. Now if he refuses or 'forgets' I just wait 'til he's around then puff and sigh and whimper as I struggle with the heavy boxes/things on high shelves/awkward lifting. His guilt is my friend . For the record I have only planned doing that stuff - so far I'm still in my dressing gown .

Afternoon

I too have been hovering for a while (Well actually its taken me a week of lunch breaks to read all the posts!) I'm nine weeks, and we couldn't be happier - we've been together 16 years so at 33 we thought it was about time we tried - I came off the pill in mid April, thinking it would take a while OH is very pleased and proud he managed it in such a short space of time - what is it with men! :rolleyes:

it didn't take us very long to conceive either and we were still a bit shell shocked when we saw the GP who laughed at us and said 'well yes if you have sex without using contraception there's a pretty high chance you'll get pregnant' I think we hear so many stories of couples who have trouble that we forget what a natural process it is when it works
