congrats traveller. i am having another insomnia night. i had a bad night last night had no naps today so hsould be pooped but i am buzzing! wish so much i could sleep but my restless legs are playing havoc. maybe this is a sign that baby is coming soon but im not that lucky! operation get baby out is in full swing!
love you lots like jelly tots :o
  • ahh rjh sounds lovely - hope you get there then! Just avoid Antrim and Lagan Valley (do they still have maternity?? i was born there!!) like the plague!
I've been told that there are huge numbers coming up to use the hospitals up north to give birth in as ours are much better!! Who'd have thought, eh ;)
I'd be tempted to go home to have y kids when the time comes as I've always loved bein frm NI.

Perhaps a few games of bowling or times round the ice rink might help?? You'd be nice and close then too! You from round bout those parts then?? Grew up not far from there myself - not that anywhere is far in NI!!
  • Congrats traveller!! that was rather fast!!! glad everythng went well!!!!!

Wonder if Gemma has had her babe yet? Hope so, Sheel!

    Not yet

She finally got a bed late afternoon on Saturday and was given the first lot of Prostin gel at about 8pm. Think she had another lot sometime yesterday and was having contractions every 3 to 4 minutes. There wasn't much happening at 10pm so her OH had to go home which he wasn't happy about , but he called me about 3am to say he was going in as it was all kicking off as he put it!

He called me again at about 5am-ish to say she had been moved to the delivery ward and had had an epidural which had worked straight away. She'd had a pethidine shot during the night to help her sleep. He rang me not long ago to say she was doing great and had had some tea and toast! They'd attached a heart beat monitor to the baby's head as there was some worry about the baby's heart rate being high , but it's fine.

She's now 5cm dilated and her OH thinks baby will be born by 12pm , so i'm trying to decide whether to go to the hospital in an hour or so although my SIL doesn't know where I could wait apart from the canteen.

So it looks like i'm going to become a Grandma today at long last! :j :j :j

    Congrats traveller :T

lagan valley is apparently closing down their maternity this year but keeping the pre and post natel care. antrim i have heard mixed reports about but too far away as i am down ards peninsula. other option is the royal butulster is closer and to be honest i wasnt given a choice! hoping i go on my own so i can have my lovely waterbirth and my husband insists that the shiny lcd tv in the home from home suites will connect to his xbox! lmao!!

congrats sheel let us know when the little un pops out weight etc!! cant wait for this one to pop out i am so so so fed up!!! eventually went to bed near two last night awake at five again. but maanged to get back to sleep until just half an hour ago so feeling a bit more rested! bank holiday not sure what to do with myself. cant relaly take a day trip as everywhere is very far from hospital!!
love you lots like jelly tots :o
