Itsasecret, I too am 7 weeks today and suffering with all day sickness. I found that ginger takes the edge off. I bought it in tincture form swiss herbal remadies. I mix 10 drops with sparkling water and sip it throughout the day. I'm constantly snacking as if I feel that helps keeping the sickness at bay.
I saw my GP this morning, the midwife will get in touch with me on Wednesday to arrange early scan as i had m/c last month. Cant wait, I have a feeling that I may have twins as my sickness is so bad and I'm already getting rounder around the tummy. (although, probably due to the fact i'm stuffing my face at the moment!)
    xx

ps has anyone tried reflexology or acupuncture to get rid of morning sickness?

I need to take bottle of water everywhere with me and since im drinking soo much im up every hour during the night to go to the !!!!!!! toilet lol! Ive got my appointment with the midwife next Monday so will just mention it to her and hope it goes away soon!

Never really had much problems with morning sickness, but i found that using the travel bands on my acupressure points worked. Didn't think they were doing anything for me until i took them off and boy did i get hit by nausea! You need to wear on both wrists for max effect.
I also had regular kinesiology sessions which helps my digestive system, so reflexology or acupuncture should also help.

Unfortunately for some people, nothing will reduce the morning sickness so hope you find something to work for you!

And belated congratulations to new arrivals and pending arrivals if i've missed any, have been reading the thread just not had time to reply lately!

I personally kept a packet of mints (extra strong ones for some reason) on me as they helped take away that sicky feeling... not sure if im just wierd but it helped me! Ive passed the sicky stage now though, and yes needing the loo does calm down too-i was getting up three times in the night and its now gone down to just the once!

My midwife phoned this afternoon to arrange chat and scan. She said she could get appt for me this wednesday morning:eek:. I'll only be 7 weeks, she told me to drink plenty of fluids to have a good picture. I really dont want an internal scan!! Will it be too early for them to work out EDD and will I still get the 12 week scan?

    hi

cookie08 how did your scan go.

i went for my 20 scan everything looks okay, got to go back in four weeks as she couldnt get a good luck at the heart, she seems to think it is a boy but the full tests result from my amnio will not be back till thursday.

    hope everyone is well

Sorry for the late reply but havent been gettin emails when new messages have been added  and as im quite new to the site i couldnt get bk on here until i was playing just and found the threads i was subscribed to...

Scan went fine, had a picture with just his head and shoulders as hes to big now for a full scan, ive been told hes got very long legs, a big willy (sonagramer, my mum n dh all looked twice when she viewed that area lol) and his head and stomach are just above average! So he looks like hes going to be a big un, His umbilical cord was behind his head so it looked like he was blowing a big bubble on the scan.

Just read further down in the thread and noticed youve posted that yours is defo a boy and everythings healthy with him, Have you thought of any names adn what did you think of the site i showed you with the pram?

glad everythings ok and all the best x

Hi...question cos I'm getting conflicting dates everywhere I look.

I'm looking at ovulation calendars as we're planning on starting ttc in July / August. I just can't quite work out what my cycle length is.
When you say it's x days, do you count the day it starts as being day 1 and the day it starts again as being day 27 / 28 / whatever?? Lots of websites seem to give different answers but don't say how they base the cycle length!!
Like if my last started March 2nd and then again today - I would have said that was a 27 day cycle...But some places count it as 26 days, others as 27.

Anyone able to give me a better idea?????
    Cheers!

Day 1 is when your period comes, the day before your period is counted as day 28 etc (the last day).

If you came on 2nd march and again on 28th then this is a 26 day cycle. I did a quick search and found this site http://www.babycenter.com.au/preconception/activelytrying/howmenstrualcycleworks/ which should explain things probably better then i have about working out your dates.

I used the links below for my ovulation calendar, the second is a conception calendar which i found to be the same.
