    Hi everyone.

Good Luck MissBe, sounds very exciting this morning for you!!

I dont want to bring the board on a downer, but I would like to share my experience even if its to help others that may find themselves in a similar situation.

I went to EPADS yesterday and had the confirmation that I have had a missed miscarriage. I opted for an evacuation and a D&C as the pregnancy ended 8 weeks ago. The op lasted for 15 minutes and was successful, I was worried about damage to the uterus but they said it was a small risk and they fix any damage via keyhole there and then IF it did happen, luckily all went ok. Very emotional day, but today is a new day.

Hardly any pains and not a lot of blood loss either. I read a few horrific stories this week, so I am glad that it went as smoothly as it has. All I need to do now is get stronger emotionally and physically, and I hope to be talking on here in the coming months.

Good luck everyone with their pregnancy journey whichever way it may turn out. And if anyone wants a chat I am here.

    Big Hugs xx

Good luck miss_Be, hope things are speedy!

And Coleys, sorry you had the news you weren't looking forward to, but it sounds like everything was successful in making sure you're able to try again. Wishing you a short recovery time and some good news soon to relieve the pain{hugs}.

Still no sign of my LO arriving, though not officially due until tomorrow. DH has taken to fielding the now daily phone calls from M-I-L so i don't shout or get my blood pressure up!

By now miss_be you are probably holding your baby - hope all went/is going well - i'm sooooo jealous.

coleys - so sorry to hear of your experience, hope you are feeling stronger soon and back on one our the lists. Thinking about you.

douggie - at least you m-i-l cares, mine will pretend to care for other people but has offered me no help at all, even though i have been struggling with 3 kids and being very pregnant. It's all show for her - if she offers me help when the baby is born i think i will probably cut of my nose to spite my face and struggle on without her help. for all she knows i could have had the baby a week ago. Do i sound bitter?

i am now 2 days over - beginning to get used to being big and keep forgetting i am pregnant and waiting for a baby!!!! OH doesn't want to go to work on Monday so wants me to have it this weekend.

That's lovely news Ukbandit. Hark at us all blubbing! :D

I'm a bit confused about when to buy nursing bras and what size. Do I buy ones that fit me now (I'm a 38/40C) and they stretch, or get a cupsize up? As M&S's sale starts tuesday and i get a 20% staff discount too, it's time I started thinking about this and investing in 2 or 3.

Hiya, I bought nursing bras at 35 weeks as had grown out of my maternity ones. Bit of a waste of time as Annabeth is now 3 weeks old and I have had to buy some more (admittedly I did throw one out by accident, how dim can you get?) and my size is now different as I wasn't properly measured again, just went with my existing size with more clips. If you go to M and S to be measured or advised when you try on they will sort you out. I was told that my ribs are still going in (oo-er) and the cup size is bigger, so I've gone down from 38d to 36e, and am starting out on the last hooks, so the bra can get tighter.
    Hope this helps.
Annabeth Charlotte arrived on 7th February 2008, 2.5 weeks early :D

Hi Miss_Be (not that you're here....) - hope all is going well and looking forward to your news soon!

Congratulations UKbandit - Sara is so cute, and so much hair!

Coleys - thanks for keeping us updated - so sorry the news was as it was, but glad the staff all sounded nice and the op went as well as possible. Have a chilled weekend, and take care of yourself. Hugs to you and our OH.

3kids - Glad you aren't as achey now. I know what you mean about the mother in law thing. If you don't want her to help don't, or just give her a really horrible job that you just absolutely can't do! Mine lives in the Midlands, and although we've had cards, are showing no interest in seeing Annabeth, although they do phone and ask about her. I think she does it as a way of not interfering, but I do feel sorry for (and angry on behalf of) DH having to try to ask if they're visiting. They travel extensively for their hobby so it really wouldn't be any trouble. I'm sending them some photos and asking them outright when they would like to come!

Birth vibes again, and hope to hear from anyone currently birthing soon!
I'm just off to clean out my ferrets before Annabeth wakes up.

Coleys - I am sorry to hear that you have definitely had a miscarriage but also very glad to hear that things are getting sorted. I hope that you get back up to full health soon.

Thanks to everyone with their well wishes. I've not had the baby yet as the contractions aren't close enough. I also fell asleep which slowed things down. I've just heard from the hospital that there aren't enough midwives to give me a home birth, which is disappointing so it looks like I'll be having a hospital birth. We still have the room all set out for a home birth anyway just incase a miracle happens. There is a slim chance that if I haven't given birth by this evening there might be enough midwives to have a home birth. It's a very slim chance though. So I'll let you all know anyway.

Sending well wishes to you all. xxx

Hi miss_be - really thought you would have given birth now. What a shame about your homebirth. Really hope things go the way you want them to. There just doesn't seem to be enough midwives. I thought you were posting to say that your baby had been born and that everything was good. Good luck.

Well, i've been sat on my birthing ball, and that combined with going for a drive and stalling the car (by accident i might add) i am hoping will bring on labour. Getting really anxious as to whether baby is ok now. I have bruised my belly hoovering (!!) and just want to know that he is ok now. To be honest feeling really low at the moment about absolutely everything and really need things to start moving.

my 4 year old has just made baby a mii on the nintendo wii which is really cute.

3kids, yes both MIL and my mum do care, i appreciate that and it's their first grandchild which means they're all on tenterhooks waiting for news, just annoying that i've pointed out the chances of a first baby being on time or early are very slim and they should be prepared to wait for another 10 days!

miss_be, you do know you don't *have* to go to the hospital don't you? If they have a shortage of midwives, it's up to the hospital to get bank staff in to cover for the ones who should be out in the community. You've possibly already seen this website, but http://www.homebirth.org.uk/ gives plenty of advice on how to counter the "we're shortstaffed" argument if you're strong enough to follow through. Appreciate it's hard to have the confidence to say no to what are supposedly experience professionals. Failing that, just stay at home as long as you can and worst case they'll send a paramedic crew out to you if you feel the head crowning :)
