Wine gums, a plastic football (not worth 50p IMHO) or a box of 4 wine glasses
Nothing i need so not tempted to do a 10 item shop for any of it. Did find some thorntons "just for you" chocs that i never saw before though.Womble_Queen wrote: »:rotfl: My thoughts exactly Angels, is it actually worth it? - I'm sure I saw a past its sell by date pack of scones on the prize table yesterday afternoon.Perhaps we should donate 1p chocs to the prize fund.:D
Lol you've all made me giggle! I can see a scenario in my head where someone goes thru self scan with an armful of 1p chocs, goes to the table, sweeps the complete c r a p off it, plonks the 1p chocs down with the receipt and says 'here, have some decent prizes, this stuff is total c r a p!If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused0 -
I do enjoy the debate about what is and what is not acceptable on the Elite, it seems to raise its head every few threads.
I personally do not have an opinion either way about how much of an item anyone gets. Given the community spirit on the elite, I’m sure a lot of things are given to friends, relatives, food banks, homeless shelters etc. We should also remember that there has been a recession for quite some time now and some of the elite might choose or need to sell glitchy items to feed and clothe their families.
When it comes to last night’s debate about giving everyone everything on a plate or not, I have to admit I am ‘old school’ and remember when the Elite started after the days of DTD a couple of years ago. This was meant to be the chatty thread and I’m sure an equivalent bargain posting thread was created at the same time. The elite seems to have won the battle and the thread is still here with bells on and the other seems to have fallen by the wayside. I think, like most of us that the info is freely available to everyone quickly and easily and it is not too much to ask people to read back a few pages, after all, the rest of us have to (apart from perky of course!!):D
When I talk about sense of community, consider this. When any of us find anything glitch, anything cheap, or when we nick something from the dark side or 10Ways, where do we post it? Do we post it on Grabbit or do we always come here to our cyber buddies?
End of SFSB’s waffly post. (Better be careful, I’ll be getting compared to ShortFatSavvyBuyer if I keep this up):)0 -
Yes lol and how are you Flo ? Just to cheer you up hubby had a cough recently and took months to get rid of ( he catches them off Riley who catches anything and everything from his nursery ) He also - hubby I mean went through about 4 courses of antibiotics and a chest X-ray, which came back fine. Mind you he did have tb when he was a child.
Just to add to that, DW sometimes develops a cough that takes ages to go away. Made her have a chest Xray but it came back fine:)Awaiting a new sig0 -

I've no idea what it's liek to actually have the issues, but for me, her son, it was very upsetting. It's good to say that with around 9 months of dressing, it has now healed. I do keep moisturizing her leg every time I go down there. I wish she'd manage her diabetes better, sat eating bags of toffees, but I guess she's made her choices.
Best wishes to you - Hopefully yours will clear up with the Manuka! :A
Supposed to be good stuff.0 -

We have little Maddie-moo round for 3 days. She has a tooth coming too, already!:eek::eek: Luckily for mum (DD1) she started her on bottles the other week. :rotfl:
I've not been shopping for at least two weeks now. I also got one set of the Mullers. I have no 1p chocs!
I hope that the issue with your mum is solved and that things are calming down for you
Ah thanks Dr VA tooth already for maddie, that's early isn't it? Although my DS had 7 teeth by 6 month  looked very strange :rotfl: hope your DD is finding it easier with the bottles now.
Mums issue is with work - an ongoing dispute since October and she is rock bottom with no signs of it ending. But she is strong and I'm supporting her.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »Great to see you back tiger, was wondering where you had got to :T:T:TTiger

I haven't got one... But am giggling again imagining thrusting boxes of chocs at random kids and telling them to go scan them. Cue loads of excited kids running amok, sa's and parents tearing their hair out and me trying to look at the tills to see if any say 1p! Brilliant fun!If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused0 -
All the stores within easy reach for me removed the scanners a long time ago. There is one now that has the handheld scanners but has a reputation among locals as being the worst store in the area for people of our bent.
You are right that for a lot of seasonal things it's pretty obvious and a matter of patience and being in the right place at the right time.:)
People of our bent sounds good lol. The Tesco s here is an extra but is on 2floors so I would class it as a fairly big one. Yet never seems to have much in the way of bargains unfortunatly0 -
