Kids playing football in the street/cars
Comments

Tough one - I used to play football in the road as a kid but I used a small, spongey type ball from a toy shop whereas kids that play in our road use a size 5 leather ball. Our neighbours son used to be out constantly when he was young but because he Dad had an Audi he used to send him down the other end of the road to play to bounce it off other people's cars!! As his was 'too expensive' to damage.0

i think its very different - if a kid was shooting at a cat and hurting it/frightening it, thats way worse than someone accidentally kicking a ball into a car or a flower bed, things which are not alive or can feel pain.0 -
How about paying a professional de-clutterer to come in and help you clear your garage in a day. The cost will be less than repairing one major dent in your car and you'd feel great having sorting that garage which is probably hanging over your head.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0

And would the damage be lessened if the position of the goal frame was altered? i.e. to face in another direction?
The ball has bounced off several cars around the turning circle they are using. I know one had its wing mirror casing cracked.
My car had been damaged by another (unknown) car, but there were also scuffs that I can only attribute to the football (I can't see the drive from the house so just hear the ball bounce and bang without seeing what it's bouncing and banging on).
A (slightly downhill) neighbour's lawn is wrecked from the kids running across it and they've trashed bedding plants on the way.
I'll try and find a picture of the street so you can see the layout.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

You can't be serious?
I'm betting one of the reasons you wanted to live on the nice cul-de-sac is so that your daughter can play out on the street when she's older, am I right?0 -

It's not clutter unfortunately. We had a building damaged in a minor flood, and its the furniture and furnishings from there. Until its all fixed I can't move the furniture.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

No. We bought the house 9 years ago. She was far from being thought of then. We've had the garden landscaped for her, so she'll play in the garden (or on the green around the corner when she's old enough).
I don't see the difference. They're damaging other people's property.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

Ah right, maybe you could consider moving then. Children playing out sort of comes with the territory of nice little cul-de-sacs I'm afraid.
Its a bit like moving in right next to a school, you can't really get annoyed when there's a lot of people about at 9am and 3pm. Or living right by a hospital, can't complain about the sirens at all hours of day and night.0 -

It's not. But thanks for your thoughts.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

This. You could speak to this kids parents - no doubt they would be devasted as thier son who probally has a hard time fitting in due to his problems (No one can deny that most schools with boys focus around football during recess) if they did decide to take the goals down and not allow thier son to play outside anymore. (Or they might just ignore you - I would tbh cause my child is more important then my neighbour.. :-| )
The only possible solution I see that makes everyone happy is that you buy them a new ball - one that is not a proper leather one but also inbtween a really kiddy soft one and basicly ask the parents if they would use it instead and have a word with the kids about the damage of the other one is causing. (As no doubts thier will be some why are we using this thing?! to start with)
It won't do wonders they will still be running round flowerbeds but at least you can not worry about the cars or windows smashing...and I think as you said moving them to the green is out of options if the main child is to contine to be invovled.People don't know what they want until you show them.0
