SA repayments

It does seem - from this and other threads - as though repayments/refunds are not being made as efficiently as in the past.
Perhaps they have some new internal procedures to crack down on "tax dodgers" and we're being caught up in that?
I'm just speculating but it does seem as though far many more of us are complaining of a delay to a repayment, this year.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
In my view it is purely a cynical attempt to delay payouts, nothing more to it than that.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

A view that has no basis in fact, as has been pointed out to you many, many times on this forum. And yet still you repeat it. What's the reason for that, Chris? Did you not understand when you were told before? Or are you deliberately trying to mislead people who come on this forum looking for help?0

You don't have to look far for the evidence, Mr. Bogbrush. Firstly, when it comes to service level targets you can hopefully accept the comments of the Public Accounts Committee:
"Unambitious and woefully inadequate"
So we can all agree response times are terrible and 20 million calls went totally unanswered with their stupid telephone systems. So the only question to ask is not whether performance is rubbish but why.
Here the accountancy profession is divided 50-50. Some take the view that management are willing but the staff quality is terrible and morale even worse with strikes and so forth, so even top quality managment would really struggle.
The other 50% - myself included - take the view that there is a deliberate and cynical attitude from top to bottom within HMRC. Hiding behind jobsworthiness and daft processes, in fact the aim is to fine the UK public as much as possible and slow up refunds as much as possible.
In my view there is a substantial volume of evidence for this view.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0 -
