I did mine on Monday and the repayment status changed from "pending" to paid today. :) But my return was very simple.

my question is - do HMRC use faster payments when paying out? if so, I should have the money by now but I don't. :(
  • I did one on Saturday 6th although the date online is showing 8th and it still says repayment pending.
Last year it took 6 days from submitting to payment being in the bank.
The money went in the same day it changed from pending to issues.

Hmrc have said there are 5 days of security basic checks before payment as a minimum. Some can be longer due to security failings or extra random checks.

    Will update further

filed my husbands on 6th around 5pm have been checking since wednesday and still saying bank repayment pending, hmrc online says last updated 12/04. What does bank repayment pending mean? I have found sites saying it means security checks and others saying it means its on its way to my bank but not cleared yet. last year i filed on the 13th april and funds was cleared in account on 18th april. Any ideas? or help?
  • I did it at 6am 6th mine went to pending Thursday issued Friday and in bank today I don't think hmrc updates on a Saturday so I bet Monday yours will change to issued.
The process needs 5 working days to issue apparently.
If yours is a high value it may take longer.
  • As soon as it says issued that's when the money is released to your bank
