Nothing much. Just means that repayment is not in the pipeline and you'll have to wait.

I'm sorry - that's not helpful - but all of us in this thread are in the same situation. We're waiting for HMRC to make the repayment.

You could try phoning HMRC. I got through by "pretending" to have submitted a paper return and eventually I got to speak to a "real person". But all they could do was to agree that I was due a repayment and arrange for someone to call me, within a week.

Still waiting ..... ho-hum ..... :rotfl:

My repayment was eventually issued by HMRC on 30 May and was in the bank shortly after midnight on 31 May.

Due to the phone waiting times described in this thread I did not speak with HMRC to ask why there was a difference in time between my repayment and that of my wife.

Hi when doing your sa tax online has anyones gone straight to bank payment pending WITHOUT it asking to request a payment mine has but still waiting to be paid since 6 April =8weeks now

I have been doing SA for at least eight years and on the few occasions my tax was overpaid the repayment was made by HMRC without my having to request it.

I phoned HMRC yesterday& was told my sa tax was selected for sercurity check and thay would email sercurity dept has this happened 2 anyone if so how long did you wait for payment...

done my SA on 8th of May, it took 13 days for my account status to change to " bank repayment pending". till now nothing new, was on the phone with HMRC and was told same story ( security check).:(:(
