If you are using a communal aerial system then it may need adjustment to allow for the changes.

Thanks. It isn't a communal aerial.
  • Lots of others reporting problems here.

I also get the impression that Winter Hill users will need to use wideband aerials over the next few years to get the full range of MUXes.

Sometimes people have two aerials, each on a different transmitter and the feeds (cables) from each are combined into one feed so as to be able to watch the output of both transmitters using the same receiver (TV, box etc). The change of channel from Winter Hill for BBC standard definition services may not be receivable with two combined aerials.

Anyone having problems - can you goto a channel you DO get and see if you can find a signal strength?

Sorry, mine doesn't seem to display a signal strength.

EDIT: Just worked out how to get it. ITV1 is showing a signal strength of 41%. Channel 50, which I believe the BBC channels have moved to is showing a strength of 0%.
  • Try a manual rather than auto re-tune and select channel 49 then 50.

Sometimes works for lower strength reception.

I did try that yesterday and there was nothing. I'll try it again later, thanks.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Hi, I have a Samsung TV with built in Freeview HD and some of the channels I watch, like Sky news had been showing 'weak or no signal' message. I did an auto retune and now those channels, as well as my HD channels aren't list at all. Also, I find that the number of channels available once scan completes either increases or depletes in number. I'm unable to reach the ariel at the back of the tv to remove and insert it back and am not savvy enough to carry out a manual retune. I do have sky and so am not without tv channels, but this is still bugging me. I'm in the HTV Wales area, not sure what transmitter it is.
  • I can't describe this too well but it is also in other threads - essentially when you retune you need to delete all existing channels not just add new ones - at one stage there's a yes/no about this - this may help
