Still haven't had a reply clarifying things for me about whether I can buy lunch for both hubby & I and claim it back.
The answer to this is that you get a set amount of money (£19 from memory) for doing this job. Out of this you have to buy a buffet and 1 or 2 drinks, depending on what it says. You will find the cost of these is likely to be below £19. You can spend as much as you like (up to four people, if that's what they say) but they will only refund you £19 (or whatever the real amount is). If you spend less than £19 they will still refund you £19. So IMHO the spend which will attract least attention from the tax office is if you and your DH eat together, make sure that you buy what you have been told plus anything else you like, and then submit your report based on what happened. I use my mobile phone for timing
surely staff in all these places know now to look for people with digital watches constantly checking the time!Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:

I would avoid OneStopPhoneShop & Carphone Warehouse .I did a shop off the internet and they never got the phone to me in 24hrs as they said. In fact they didn't get the order there in a week and I went on holiday. When i got back I opened the parcel and they had debt collectors keep phoning me and made me pay the contract

Woo-hoo, got a £50 MS from GFK:D Have got 20 MS scheduled in the nxt 9 days, including 2 in Knightsbridge whilst we are taking Spud to visit Father Christmas at Harrods;)
However, have just been checking the details, one with Gap is a petrol shop and I have just realised the reimbursement won't cover the cost as I have to spend at least that amount on fuel & then something else from
the shop, to say nothing of my time etc:mad:. Will not be booking any more of these in future! Beware, becuase according to the pre-book brief it looked like I would make a profit on top of the purchase & it actually turns out I am going to have to spend more than they pay me!.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
Does anybody know What the legal situation is with recording MS telephone calls ?
Somewhere at the back of my mind I have the impression that if you record a telephone conversation the other party must be informed and that is why whenever you make a call to some establishments there is a recording "Calls will be recorded for ...".
Are MS covered or could we be exposed to prosecution under the Human Rights Act or similar ?0 -
Lillibet why don't you cancel the Gap one where you are making a loss?
...Are you really making a loss as you do need to buy petrol anyway surely?
I have done recorded interviews and financial appointments with no problem. if there were any legal issue I think it would fall on the responsibility of the MS company not the individual carrying out the job. Some of the ones I did were for the FSA I think they have a right to do such things for the good of the consumer, and have a fair bit of legal clout.
If you think about it some of what we do would be tantamout to stalking if it were watching a private individual, recording what they look like, what they say and so on... but it is not, it is in a legitimate context.

I joined Grassroots a week ago and completed 10 assignments, But for the last three days I have been offered nothing. Is this what happens i.e jobs come in bursts, or is there a chance they think I have been too busy??0
