Is anyone else having trouble with the GFK/NOP mystery shopping test? I know I've got all the answers right but it tells me I've only got one correct?
Have been trying for about two weeks as I thought there might be an error on their system that they would sort out, but the same thing is still happening. Any ideas?0 -
I have a PO Pims assignment for GAP today, can I buy anything in the shop for £5 except the items on the banned list?0

I think so, I have not done one of these for a long while. I used to buy stamps a book of 1st and a book of 2nd and I am still going through them now. As you always need stamps and they do not go out of date either if they have no price on them.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

I was hoping to buy stamps but that is one of the things on the banned list so I will maybe have to buy envelopes etc.0 -
Timne, not sure if you can help with this tax question. For the stamp jobs and others in a high street store you have to buy something of £5 and over and what I was wondering, as I often get something that costs me £7, can I put the whole £7 down as an expense for tax purposes or can I only say £5?
Hope you can advise please?
It's a funny one really - I usually just claim the minimum I need to spend - i.e. £5.00 and use that much as the expense in my accounts and then whatever I spend over that is out of my "capital account" (i.e. take it away from cash but not from profit)....
SO if I'm off out for a MS meal and get reimbursed £30 for it and I spend £40 then I just include the cost of £30 in my accounts and the extra tenner just gets lost in my own finances!
Make any sense?0 -

Oh I'm sorry that I gave you that information then, I did not know that it was on the banned list. I have not done a stamp shop since the company got taken over, so that is about a year ago. Then they have not been in my area.cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

My printer died the other week, so I had to go out and buy a new one for MSing. I did not buy the most expensive one, but I needed one. How can I claim tax back on it as I only use it for MSing. Can someone explain to me how and how much this will be. The printer was £49.96cross stitch cafe #90 UFO's 6 to finish in 2013, and loads of new kits to boot

I've just been accepted as an assessor for Optimum Contact, but I chickened out of the section where it asked you if you were free for at least 15 hrs a week (possibly 'bulk surveys'?).
I was just wondering if any of you guys had taken them up on that, if you really do spend 15 hrs a week doing that work and if it's worthwhile?
you can work as many or as little as you want0 -
You can either claim the cost of the printer and all of its running costs (the easiest option if you only use it for MSing but potentially not the most tax efficient one)
OR you can claim a cost-per-page for each of your jobs but that involves a lot of admin.
I claim per page as I use my printer for myself too. As I have an accounting system it's reasonably easy to keep a note of all of these printing pages!
