Hi, 1st comment on here. My situ is as follows and would like to know if anyone knows what my options are.
I used another source to deal with my charges reclaim back in 2007. All relevant letters where sent to the bank with my claim total. This all happened before the case was appealed. I have not been able to get in touch with the person dealing with my claim now and I know i have had alot more charges in the last two years. I wish to know can i revise my claim witht the last 2 years charges included and how i would go about this now....I know my complaint has already been lodged, but can i now go back and get the last 6 years charges and reclaim myself?? Thanks0 -

About a week before I knew I was going to bust my overdraft limit,I applied online via internet banking to extend my overdraught facility.
This has never been a problem before and after a few days,I get a letter of approval. On this occassion,I heard nothing.
Also I went to my local branch and explained that very soon I would be in the position to pay off my overdraft.
This was achieved as promised.
Like I said in my previous post that I'm working hard to sort my finances out,so you can see why I think I have been treated very unfairly.
ALSO my PPI reclaim is now at the stage of being adjudicated by the FOC who have been corresponding with Lloyds over the past couple of weeks and I'm certain that this is having some bearing on this,so please don't tell me that the paperwork wouldn't tie up between departments as everything would be in a common file.Never skimp on Shoes,Tea bags and fishing tackle!0 -

I have just got off the phone with HSBC who have had another look over my claim due to financial hardship and I have been told tht my claim has been succesful and that they agree I am in financial hardship, but they are only in a position to offer me a monthly refund to help with my living costs.
I have been offered £170.00 for the next 2 months to help pay for day to day living and if and when the court case is completed and in my favour then they will look at refunding all of my charges.
They are sending a letter for me to sign to say I am happy with the refund before they crdit it to my account.
Surely if they agree I am in financial hardship then they should give me a full refund?!?!?
Any ideas please?
Thanks
The answer is NO they do not have to refund 100% under financial hardship and rejection of the offer gets you nothing since there is a hold on bank charges claims.0 -
There is a bit more to this scenario.

PPI claim is irrelevant btw. Never assume that the bank knows more than they ACTUALLY know. The overdraft bit is interesting, if you had a clear approval prior to going over the limit then maybe it is bank error and can be looked at in that manner.0 -
I've said all along one ruling against the consumer and thats it. Even on bbc news channel Martin Lewis has just said "it's doubtful the consumers will now get a payout". I think everyone who uses this forum should agree to take there money out of a certain bank and we should try to do what happened to Northern Rock. If everyone took there money from say the Abbey and stopped paying there mortgage to them this would most certainly put them in trouble.0

I know many people like me have charges of £28, £30 or £35.
I have (or had now !!), quite a few £139, and £150 charges. Is this quite common. Can anything be done about those.
I think it's time to give up on banks alltogether, after all they are now owned (some) by the government themselves.
Thats £6k i'll never see again !!
Sorry to moan a bit, like many of other people, we are now having a bad day !!0 -
Wow – Im in shock!! I cant believe the banks won!
I read that the OFT are going to push for fairness to apply but under different grounds so that future charges are fair – does this mean that if for example they agree that £10 is a fair charge that we are able to reclaim the difference on what has been charged already???0 -
Some good news for a change. At least those of us who budget, plan, take care of our finances aren't going to be shafted again by the introduction of current account annual fees to cover payouts to those who are less so. :beer:0
