We posted a claim off for over £3000 to the Natwest on 23/07/08,we had a letter asking about any financial hardship we had none. However it is over 12 months and we have heard nothing more, should we contact the bank and if so what do we say?
THANKS0 -

If you have any other agreements with natwest ie credit card or mortgage then they cannot ask for it all back because you claim. Furthermore, if the account has been shut by you over a year ago then it would not be viewed as a financial hardship case since the charges now are not having any effect on your priority debt arrears.0 -
Hi
This is my first time on here in a while - after the success of my PPI reclaiming last year - but I am raging at the minute. I bank with Bank of Ireland - who must be one of the worst out there for charges. I got charged £40 for going overdrawn - unauthorised... £21 for Informal Overdraft request charge & £19 Informal Overdraft Usage Charge.. now where's the difference in those..
Phoned the bank - aka Call centre - to be told I can submit a request for charges to be refunded but it would be very unlikely....
The sooner these banks are stopped from stealing money from peoples bank accounts the better!!!0 -

Hmmm, interesting and that is humungous on the double charge.0 -
Hi all, apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere.
I have a claim on hold with HSBC, for unfair bank charges, largely referring to unauthorised overdraft fees. I have been reading how some banks (RBS, Halifax) are now reducing their fees in advance of the House of Lords verdict expected in October. I see that they have greatly reduced the fees for bounced cheques and direct debits (unpaid item fees) but not by as much for unauthorised overdraft fees (guaranteed card payment fee) or the monthly "maintenance" fee for an unauthorised overdraft, which are the charges I most commonly encounter.
My question is: Should the House of Lords find that the charges are unfair, will I be able to claim for the full amount of charges or will I have to wait until there's a ruling on what IS a fair charge? Will HSBC have the resources to look through my records and determine how I've incurred these fees in the first place and base their decision on that?
