I can't remember if you can claim on business accounts? I suspect the answer is not. However, have a look around this site or as i always say, ring FOS! You can but ask. I've posted a link for FOS a few posts up.

I claimed from my Natwest business account and got a large part of what I'd claimed for back, business accounts are not covered by the test case, I claimed on the 22.01.09, and the money was in my account by the 13.02.09, so it is worth a try.

Yes they should do. Did you send it to the branch or their head office? I would send it to their head office and I would expect you to get a response from them.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Hi this is my first time so sorry if im doing it all wrong. Just need some advice on my situation. Made a bad business venture and ended up in the creek without a helping paddle ie very close to bankruptcy. So situation is, a lot of debt and untold charges to several accounts i have. Contacted Churchwood Financial to consolidate my debts in March 08, all of which total to apprx £40k for which i am paying £240pm. I have a overdraft, a personal loan, and a credit card debt with Halifax. RBS are not too happy with either as i have cc, loan, and two od accounts with them. All of these debts are with the Churchwood scheme. What i'd like to know is am i in a position to claim back the charges the two banks have imposed on all these accounts over the past five years or am i just dreaming? Any response to my problem would be very appreciated.

Hi, as I have said in the post above I have reclaimed successfully on a business account, a few years ago I was ina very similar position to you, we made some bad business moves, and ended up taking out loans to meet loan payments, its never going to work I know, I knew it at the time, but when you are desperate you will do anything.

We had some hard decisions to make, we sold our house of 21 years and paid off the loans, we lived in a static caravan for a while, and got our house in order, we are not quite debt free yet, not till the end of this year, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
we now live in arented house, which is much nicer than the one we owned, our business is going well, and the future looks bright, just wanted to share this with you, as I know how hard it is when you loose hope.
You can get out of this pickle, it takes time, and a strong will,I have found people around me to be very kind and helpful, maybe I've just been lucky.

Paulie - congrats on getting such a great result!

I'm also claiming against Woolwich, and am about to send off a financial hardship letter. However, whilst in 2007 I sent the original letter to the Openplan Customer Contact Centre address, I am unsure whether to send this new letter to the same address, or whether to use a Barclays address?

If you are happy to accept their offer, you could try writing to them and asking them to refund you by way of a cheque as you need to divide the money between other creditors. I did this with an Abbey account. You could also ring FOS and ask for advice. I've found them very helpful in the past.

yepeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! i done as you said and spoke with them again! and explained i wanted to share the money out with other creditors and they agreed. it took me a few days of talks but i got there.
i would like to thank you and all the good folk in this forum, im a HAPPY GIRL TODAY.

I think its going in the correct way...... They deserve it, can't even get there own houses in order, and yet they fine us. someone should also be fining them for the mistakes they are making at the moment..

Anyone had success in getting the negative marks on your credit history removed after getting bank charges bank. I know a few banks will make it seem like you're a late payer if you get a bank charge.

I haven't done it yet. When i submitted my Barclays complaint to FOS, i asked for the data to be removed, but they said they would only consider if the test case is agreed in our favour  It's always worth asking and appealing to their better nature eg would they remove as a 'gesture of goodwill'??? Look around threads on this forum and the consumer action group as i am sure there will be some who have done it.
