I have just received an offer of settlement from abbey for £6550 for both accounts under financial hardship. My claim was for £8100 for one account and £4600 for the joint account both claims were with interest. The settlement from abbey is only the fees and not the interest as well. Should i push for more0

Has anyone had any luck with lloydstsb0

I can't help you I'm afraid. I'm in a similar boat.
Started my claim against Abbey in June 2007. Got put on hold because of trial. 2weeks ago submitted under financial hardship, and I'm still waiting to hear.
A lot of people have had success, i guess it's the luck of the draw.I've used M.S.E to sort out my debts,my savings, my insurance, my LIFE.
Back on track now so much love to Mr Lewis!:money:0 -

Hi Steve,
If you're having financial hardship and have submitted a claim under this, then I would ring them up to chase, that's what we did and found them really helpful on the phone albeit we had to chase a few times as they didn't always ring back as promised. In the end we got a letter out of the blue to say we had been succesful even though we had been told on the phone 2 days previously that the decision would be taken in another 10 days, and upon checking the money had been sat in our account for 3 days without us knowing.
Did you sent them proof of your situation in your claim ?0 -
I'm going to make a few of you a bit fed up, sorry, but its nice to have a bit of good luck for a change, last year was a bummer !! I have a business account, sent off a letter asking for £3536.00, which was for unpaid items and referral fees for the last six years (no interest), sent it on 22.01.09 (just sixteen days ago), thinking I'd get in the queue, read afterwards that business accounts weren't covered by the court case, so this could work for or against me I thought.
Got a letter back yesterday, saying they were considering my claim, it would take 6-7 weeks. Got another letter today, bog standard, we don't accept our charges are unfair, just started to feel downhearted, as I turned the page I saw a goodwill gesture of £2652.00, while its not as much as I'd asked for, I could really do with the money (couldn't we all), I don't want to be greedy and jepodise the offer, does anyone have any thoughts. I'm swaying towards acceptance.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb

Hi Jen,
I think you've answered your own question there in as much as you've said that business accounts aren't covered by the court case, they don't accept the charges are unfair (standard I know) but you could really do with the money, so I'd view it as a nice bonus that you've been offered over £2k..

i am finding that lloyds are total bar stewards!!!!! the banking side that is.
i have been helping a friend who is dying of cancer, get her charges back. lloyds credit card paid out brilliantly when i explained the situation. it had been going on for more than a year though.
BUT, the bank wont even look at it until the court case is done and dusted. poor girl could be no longer with us by then.
i have actually asked them if they are sitting back and waiting for the inevitable to happen, but the gits wont shift.
i have written to them loads and every time i write i get EXACTLY the same bog standard letter back. its like they havent even read it properly enough to comment on her dreadful situation.0 -
Hi
I apologise if I am posting this in the wrong place and I also apologise if I am repeating what has been said previously! I have just looked on the FO website and it has a list of the 7 banks that are involved in the test case with the stay on bank charges claims and Natwest is not on there?? Is this just a mistake or are they not one of the banks that has signed up to the test case?
Thanks for your help.0 -
