Well it's about time the courts realised that the banks are taking them for a ride in an effort to avoid paying these illegal chargesReclaims in progress:

First Direct: Claimed £8178 Paid: Court date 14th Aug

Right, well I'm new to all of this, but things appear to be going well:
1) Asked Halifax for my statements and got them in 2 months - 40 working days I guess (requested April 2nd received them on 7th June)
2) Received a letter from them last Saturday to say that they had received my statements request and to expect them shortly, and they came yesterday as stated above. Also in this letter they said they would not charge me the £10 statement request fee and had cancelled my cheque for that amount - BONUS!Has this happened to anyone else?
3) So I tallied up my charges for the last 6 years and it came to a grand total of £1028 which I have now requested (sent request off today by recorded delivery). I have not asked them for interest.
So, what are Halifax like at refunding bank charges? They seem to have been very helpful so far. I've given them 2 weeks to reply so they should hopefully get back to me soon.
All the best

Could anyone tell me how to get to the page where it lists all the individual banks. I need to look at the Yorkshire bank success's.
Thanks0 -
Quick question -
I requested my statements back in September last year, adding in the letter that charges that could be seen as unlawful would be claimed back.
I submitted my claim in January and started court proceedings thereafter.
I am right to claim back from the date of my original letter as I made it clear of my intentions?
Quick Question 2
My claim is in the courts now, and HSBC have asked for my breakdown of charges - is this stalling? Is there a standard letter or correct way of responding to this?
Cheers
LordgazNo reliance should be placed on the above.0 -

Hi Dan
I asked for £1255.39 from Halifax including interest and court fee and got the full amount but not before I filed with MCOL and they paid up after acknowledgement of service
Hope this helps AJ120 -

HI JESTER yes i have and just sent an email to the bbc regarding this matter i hope the publish it, because my views were strong to say the least ,i feel that mcol is just another way of giving the banks more time to waste the courts time , i enterd judgement by default and in my eyes judgement is final,
but not acording to mcol after i enterd the bank acknowlaged, they should not be allowed to do this as it stated in there paper work that they have to reply by a sertain date they did not do this so judgemet then is final, but not acording to mcol. you miseaswell just despense whith it all together as it means nothing, its just a roose to give the banks more time whose side are they on ? if this hapend then the courts would not be inundated whith claims where the banks dont turn up
sorry for my strong views but i am fuming beond beleef
any thoughts on this would be greatly recieved:rolleyes: ITS A FAR BETER THING I DO NOW THAN I HAVE EVER DONE BEFORE
