I can't stop spending! Getting disheartened

Hello Louise,
(Can I just say excellent comebacks KL and Aliasojo)
Re many bank accounts.
I have loads, it takes a bit of juggling but after about 6 months of my crazy plans (7 bank accounts) I have a kind of "float" of about 800 pounds across the accounts. I could stick it all on the debt but I won't just yet.
I feel that if the 800 ish quid was in one place I would spend it. spread out it doesn't look like much so I don't spend it~?
As for treats I do allow myself 50 quid to just spend, although the amount of time spent decluttering means I am rethinking this being shopping!
xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

P.S. I haven't had a holiday in over 9years and my DD hasn't ever had 1, so take yourself off, get your facts together and come back to this battle of wits when you're not completely unarmed....
Since everything in my post was accurate I'm not sure what you are getting at.......so.......erm congratulations on working and enjoy a massage on me!0 -

Each is individually named (you can edit these on line) and I put small amounts in each every month having divided my annual allowance for each into monthly payments. Works a treat for me (I don't know what the limit is for the amount of possible e accounts - and neither did the cashier when I asked!). With Nationwide you can also have up to 4 Current Accounts. Really useful for 'Piggy Banking'.
All of these can be managed on line.
Yeah that's what I was thinking of doing, it would soon mount up and I could use it to pay each individual thing like maintaining my car or for school dinners/uniform for DD. she ha up until now always had a packed lunch but has requested school dinners (even if its just for a term so she can decide if she likes it)PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Yes the way you do it is exactly how I planned to do it, if I have £800 in 1 account I feel loaded and struggle to not spend it, but if I have £80 in 10 seperate accounts (for example) I don't feel like I've got alot of money. I've just started decluttering and have been putting things on eBay, not a great amount but it clears my home and the spare money can be put towards closing down my credit card faster
good luck on your decluttering Hun x PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Ok "Danny BOY" you arrive at the opticians and find out you're entitled to a free eye test because you have diabetes, or work on computers for 8hours a day, or for whatever reason. You then decide to turn this down and offer to pay full price for your eye test and glasses because you don't want to accept "tax payers money on the NHS" that I too pay for? Of course you wouldn't!
I wouldn't ever refuse help if it meant my DD would be worse off. I work as many hours as I can and am proud I do so, get off my back and take yourself off to the benefit forum - im sure you'll have a field day over there!PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Oh is he? I didn't realise - then I should've thought there must be something wrong with him when he take the time effort and "inclination" to return to my thread for a look at replies!PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Careful you don't fall off your high horse there. Sure you never have anything from tax payers money - like the NHS for one great big example.
anyhow, trolls aside and back under the bridge....
krustylouise - I seem to recall some time ago there was a bank account that let you put money into different vitual 'pots' within the account. I'm not sure if it still exists but could be worth looking into. Have you thought any more about keeping a spending diary? If you don't know where your money goes each month it's the only way you're really going to find out - even just for a month or two. It was a real eye opener for me. Is DD back yet?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
