Help!!! Natwest closing my account
Comments

What is the post office account? I have poor credit history (5 years ago) with a couple of live defaults so not sure I'd get 1.
Actually I didn't think that the Post Office did current accounts. However Which? apparently say that they are on their way sometime soon. (Although I do find the date on the announcement a little odd.) Presumably it will be a Bank of Ireland product.

I did live in my overdraft until about 6 months ago, and no there isn't a word missing in my first post! They really did say it was because I was earning enough money to pay it back. I have no issue in paying it back, but I think their reason is ridiculous, and their refusal to spread it over two months is unfair. I have had the overdraft over 4 years. I even had SSP for 6 months and I never got a charge or went overdrawn. If I was running the account badly I could understand.0

This is hardly fair though when they won't even tell me why they're closing me account!! I've done nothing wrong, nothing illegal yet I now face having no bank account and I don't know what to do about it. How am I to get paid or pay DD's?
I've sent an SAR to CIFAS so hopefully that won't take long to come back and I'll know or sure. There's nothing in the CIFAS area on my Experian or Equifax files.0 -

Are you asking for help, if so you really should start your own thread to prevent any confusion.0 -
Not really, I was just saying NatWest have caused me issues too. I see its slightly confusing when I read it back. Apologies. I'm slightly dense when it comes to replying on forums which is why I usually keep away lol0

I haven't followed this saga in detail but I trust you had a formal complaint open, and can now escalate your case to the FOS since Natwest have not resolved the matter to your satisfaction within 8 weeks from your complaint?0 -

As was brought up several times in the other thread. There is certain information that banks will share with each other, but as it is for internal use only. You will never get it out of them or via CIFAS.
Even a SAR can mean that certain information is withheld for obivious reasons.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
When I went into the branch yesterday and spoke to the manager in private he said that the banks won't give information to one another, they look at the credit files and use that info. He also told me "off the record" as we're his words that there is nothing in my accounts that would lead him to believe there are any wrongdoings, everything in & out of my account is easily accountable. He did say however that when the bank has carried out a review of my account try may have looked at my credit file again and thought, actually we don't want this persons custom.
Does anyone know what the best and easiest account would be for me to open? I just want to go for a basic account so no credit scores are relied upon. Just need an account for DD's and my salary to be paid into.0
