I've rarely got a legitimate email containing an exclamation mark...much less one from the police

Scary stuff indeed. And people still think that when they conduct business
over the internet it is private
Very little on the internet is private. Every packet of data has your IP address on it.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -

To be honest if I got an unsolicited email claiming to be from the police it would go straight in the recycle bin as I would assume it was fake.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0

I think a more balanced approach would be, like all email, stay vigilant and alert to being scammed. But at the same time it's quite possible you've been contacted by email, just as you can now email your local police force yourself.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
