Email from police - apparently I bought stolen goods on eBay

    To be honest if I got an unsolicited email claiming to be from the police it would go straight in the recycle bin as I would assume it was fake.

    I think a more balanced approach would be, like all email, stay vigilant and alert to being scammed. But at the same time it's quite possible you've been contacted by email, just as you can now email your local police force yourself.
