BT and Talk Talk provide you with a 'free' box in the hope that you will buy some of their premium services, or commit to their broadband service. No different to what Sky do.
The USP is the way the catch up players are integrated into the EPG. The platform also supports premium content from 3rd parties, such as BT Vision, Talk Talk TV, Now TV,

But that doesn't mean that you have to get it from BT.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • no but my number one item is phone and broadband, if a tv package is a good price i'll go for that.

Well you've certainly been given all the facts and figures where obtaining a YouView box is concerned. You've stated you will be going for both phone and BB in your new home, so the only real question you need to ask yourself now is do you really need/want a brand new PVR too? But good luck with whatever you decide.
  • From what I've seen it doesn't look worth it though it would be nice to watch the f1 live.

Then you would have to get your TV from Sky to do that. Which doesn't include YouView. Though the BBC offers some.

Sky Sports F1 is a bonus channel that is only available if you take the £10.25 ish HD pack, or the Sky Sports pack. £21 ish.

From what I can see on the talk talk page is the sky sports boost is £30 a month but I dont think i need to sign up to any other channel packs.

I omitted to say that the prices were for the Sky Platform.
