    Yes new customer for this years new money (still have to decide about transfering previous years)

    You cannot transfer previous years ISA money into this account.
    Anyone who already has an ISA account with the Coventry would be better to open a new ISA Reward account paying 2.5%, which does allow previous years transfers.

    I ended up sending a cheque in. I'd have rather waited to be given an account number and BT the funds over but although the guff online stated this was posible there was no option of this on the application form to let them kno wthat was what you inteded to do.

    There was:
    1) Pay by cheque (include with application)
    2) Pay by Cash (branch only)
    3) Transfer from existing CBS account

    It would have been helpful if a 4th box stated 4) I'll transfer in from another account within 14 days.

    From the T&C:

    Paying money in
    The minimum opening deposit is £1. The maximum you can pay in is £5,760 (2013/2014 cash ISA allowance only). You can make deposits to your account (subject to the maximum investment limit) up until 5 April 2014. Deposits can be made by:

    A one-off or regular electronic payment from your bank or building society, quoting sort code 40-63-01 and the last 8 digits of your account number;
    Transfer from another suitable Coventry account;
    Cash at a branch;
    Cheque, made payable to the account holder, at a branch or by post to our Freepost address: Coventry Building Society, FREEPOST CV24, Customer Service Centre - Investments, Coventry CV1 5BR.
    If you have already made a subscription for the tax year 2013/2014 to another cash ISA with us or another ISA Manager, and you wish to transfer the subscription to this ISA, this can be arranged by contacting us.
    Please note that transfers of previous tax years' subscriptions and subscriptions in future tax years cannot be made into this account.Withdrawals
    You can make withdrawals from or close this account at any time without charge.
    Withdrawals or closure can be made by ISA transfer to an ISA with us or another ISA Manager, electronic payment to your nominated bank account or by transfer to another suitable account with us.

    I'm looking at this ISA but noticed it doesn't accept transfers. Currently have a Fixed Santander ISA (£15,000) that matures on May 1st. Should I apply for Coventry ISA and then once my Santander ISA matures, take out the money and then transfer £5,760 it into the Coventry account? Thinking of keeping the rest of the money in a Santander 123 account.

    They do have the Reward ISA paying 2.50 which allows transfers in

    the only trouble with that is, you have to phone them up to open it which could get expensive on the 0845 etc.

    Although looking at the Reward ISA again you could open it at a branch, but either way you do have to be an existing member and prior to February.

    Not only a member but have an EXISTING ISA with them at 4 Feb 2013:

    "ISA Reward is only available to existing Coventry customers who held a cash ISA with us at the end of 4 February 2013."

    Anyone who does meet this criteria can phone them for an application form or go into a branch.

    I popped into a branch today to open a poppy I.S.A., I'll issue the word of warning first. An interview is req'd, the earliest that I could be fitted in was Thursday (due to unprecedented demand etc)
    It was my intention to open it with notes of the realm and I have a mickey mouse instant access account with them so I asked them to deposit the notes into my instant access account and I would open and fund it upon my return home.
    This they agreed to do "When the queue had cleared". Half an hour later I was ushered into a side room, the laborious task of note counting undertaken and the ISA opened.
    I reckon that if somebody could invent a machine that counted notes and checked for forgeries at the same time then they would be onto a winner.
