Coventry Poppy ISA Procedure

Hi,
Just a quickie, apologises if already posted elsewhere.
Going through online application for the Coventry Poppy ISA, have printed off ready to return. It talks about the opening deposit via cheque/online transfer. I don't have a chequebook, my question is...
Do I make an online transfer now for £1? (they have given me an account number/sort code). Or do I wait to get something back to confirm the account is actually opened?

Sorry, I can't answer your question, but seeing you've applied with them, I hope you don't mind me asking a couple of questions?
Have you applied as a new customer?
As you've been issued account details, presumably you will not / haven't been asked to send in ID?0 -
If they have given you an account no after the sort code 40-63-01, then you can deposit this year's ISA from your bank etc
Unfortunately for me, although I'm an existing member they haven't given me an acc no. and so will have to wait for it in post.0 -

Yes new customer for this years new money (still have to decide about transfering previous years)
Not really sure about the rest, printed off the application form, whichhas in the top corner "A/C No. App" followed by a 8 digit number (sort code provided during application)
There was no mention of what (if any) ID they want from me, which the application said would be on the form if required.
So unless anyone knows, will just the send the application in and do a £1 transfer0 -

Hard to know what they have given me. It might be their own internal application number on the form, the fact it's 8 digits and labelled "A/C No App:" makes me think it looks like an account number0 -
Yes that sounds correct. The first digit being a 9 you ignore and put in the last 8 digits when setting up your bill payment/transfer.0

Was no 9 prefix or 9 digits. Did find this snippet
"Wait until we have confirmed your account number and arrange a transfer from your bank or building society. To do this please quote the following details: Sort code: 40-63-01 and account number (this will be your new account number minus the first digit)."
If I get time will maybe just call them up0 -
I have the same as that, which would appear they haven't given you an account no. yet.0

I'll go with your theory then. 8 mins of holding and I'm bored. Will post the form back and take it from there0 -
Thanks both for taking the time to answer.
Although I'm not against financial institutions requesting further ID, it is a hassle.0 -
you send the application off in the post, they then confirm your application and provide you with an account number, which is when you can deposit funds into the ISA0
