Shame to see this thread go this way. No stopping it now though I guess. The internet gives people the freedom to say stuff they wouldn't dare say in company.
You don't have to agree with someone to respect their courage to make tough decisions. Such people will never get every decision right. Not many are able to do what she did and still allow democracy.
But one things for sure, such people are in short supply and will always be remembered, for good and bad. Her passing does not change anything, therefore theres little reason to celebrate it other than a vile type of amusement.
Anyway, up to individuals to take this as they wish, just personally feel it's a shame some can't seem to contain themselves.0 -
yes, i am sure it was tough to stand back and let a fellow MP die all right!0

she was referred to as Hilda after her middle name .
Tony Blair was said to have modeled himself on Thatcher .
I think she had more balls than him.
But I do think she held back the Northern Ireland peace process"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
There are not many grocers' daughters who could potentially be eligible to receive a state funeral. She has inspired more than one generation and no one, male or female, has bettered her political achievements."A thousand candles can be lit from a single candle without shortening the life of that candle."
I still am Puddleglum - phew!0 -

As long as a group, however small, use violence to intimidate the masses. Then they'll never be peace.
At least Baroness Thatcher had the courage of conviction of her views to press for change in a constructive manner. The ballot box ultimately decides a politicians fate.0 -
