  • Ive just reduced our sky subscription by £16 per month . And have successfully obtained new equipment when it has been launched , ie old router to new sky hub and old sky box to new H.D. box . It really is worth the phone call to customer services , but have your facts at hand , ie NEW customer discounts offered and competitors offers . Make a note of the date as you are locked into a 12 month contract and then next year , repeat the process . Loyal customers will be rewarded if you threaten to leave. Good luck
  • We buy everything from Sky: TV (movies, sport, HD, Sky+), phone & fibre BB and the bill had gone up and up to well over £100pm.

One phone call yielded 1/3rd off TV, fibre BB and phone line rental for a year, and got Sky Go+ free for 7mths. The operator was a bit obstructive at first, but once he'd offered up the TV deal getting the rest was painless.

Not sure on any deals out there (there are always some somewhere) but don't forget to check cashback sites. Although you should never rely on them as they can cancel cashback without reason at the last minute or not track or etc... But when/if they do pay up it can make all the difference when faced between the difference of one or two pounds per month when one offers cashback and the other doesn't.

How about this one with BT?

£180 Quidco cashback + £125 Sainsbury vouchers for a 12 month unlimited fibre contract at £10pm, plus the usual line rental.

BT customer service is abysmal (Which? recently reviewed all the major providers and placed BT right at the very bottom of the list) but with luck you won't need it.

You'd also have to switch after the year's up to get a better deal after the £10pm offer runs out.

  • I'm a long time Sky user paying £109 a month. When Sky told me my unlimited BB and talk service was increasing I POLITLY phoned and said that TalkTalk were chasing me with a better package, could they do anything as I preferred to stay with Sky.
The lady immediately offered me a half price years service (Reducing it by £10) but I said it wasn't enough and after a few minutes came back and offered me half price line rental for a year. A total savings od £18 PM. I'm pleased and it has more than reduced my annual price increase.

See my post 21 Oct. tell Sky TalkTalk will do BB / Phone for a lot less but you want to stay with Sky if possible. I got £10 off BB and half price line rental saving £18. Go on give it a go but be polite. best of luck.

I have been with Sky for over 12 years and managed to get a £5 discount off my £54 per month HD bill - for 12 months - on the condition that I signed up for another 12 months
Can anyone beat that - for MEANNESS ?

Well done. I've managed £18 for half price line rental and half price unlimited BB. Keep up the haggling.:)

I just called SKY today and managed to wangle a completely free BB deal for a whole year plus a £50 credit on my account , as well as knocking off the £2.50 supplement charge for not having their tv package. Despite my best efforts though I couldn`t get a deal on the line rental. But I estimate that i`ve saved £170 a year so i`m a happy bunny.

Just be polite , friendly and a little bit cheeky and do your homework. I mentioned to them that my potential new ISP BT were offering £50 worth of Sainsbury`s vouchers for eg and hey presto.

    Good luck.
My bank account has six zeros in it , trouble is the one is at the wrong end :)
