Managed to reduce Sky package from £61.50 to £49 for 10 months and then managed to reduce my AA renewal by almost £80 so a total saving of £200. Well worth 15 minutes of phone time!0

Just went through exactly the same process as i did with sky 12 months ago.
1 month ago i cancelled sky and today it was disconnected.
In the last 30 days they have tried to call me several times but i just blocked the number.
Logged into MySky today and low and behold, just like a year ago there is an offer to come back to sky for 50% off. Started livechat and said i was tempted but that my dad had rejoined sky with 70% off in January and i would come back if i had an offer such as that. (this was a lie)
They said that offers are account specific, but will do the best they can.
They then offered me 60% off for 12 months (exactly what i got last year)
So i pay for family pack, Sports, Movies and HD subscription £33.45 instead of £75.750 -

Having reviewed our finances we knew we needed to reduce costs and Broadband and Phone were something we could work on. Having seen the Plusnet Deal with £100 cashback I called Sky to request MAC Code (i.e. to start haggling). I managed to get new customer rates plus £50 credit on account. Not quite £100 cash back but deal in place straight away, no need for new number, everything stays the same except the monthly cost. Very happy customer.
Thank you MSE!!0 -
I was thinking of ending my Sky package and moving over to BT. Gave them a call and they matched BT's prices for new customers on the same package. Well worth the time taken to speak to someone even though I will have to do it again in 6 months!0

Hi I have only just found this site.My pnone BB and TV supplier is VM but my contract ends 4th june 2015
So today I phoned them to say I was leaving to go to sky after about 45 mins talking the CS rep asked me to check what offers Sky was going to give me and to call him back. My question to all on here is what should I do phone him back with what offers they have.
My monthly price plan with VM is £83.94 pm0 -
I recently negotiated with sky the amount I'm paying per month.
Some offers I had run out and my package reverted to £90 per month. That is for phone, internet and HD TV.
The only reason I have sky is for the HD premiership football. Yes I could watch it down the pub or stream it, but sometimes the quality is suspect and the pub is not always convenient.
I called up sky and told them I was going to BT where I could get phone, internet and football matches for £40 per month. I then managed to talk to their disconnections team.
The deal I got in the end was £55 per month for 10 months which gives me phone, internet and HD TV. Its normal internet, not fiber internet. They also removed the family pack for my TV deal which made it cheaper as I told them that I don't use any of those channels, I only watch the football on my sky TV.
So that is a £35 per month saving on my original package. Yes I've lost channels, but I never watch them so that is no loss.0 -
Due to end of footie season and the fact that it was getting a bit expensive to justify, I asked BT to cancel my BT HD sports subscription. They offered June and July free with reinstatement 1st August. At least I have a further 2 months to think about it at no cost.0

Only have sky for phone and broadband. I have two homes this is what I was offered to stay today:
Account 1:
Exisitng: Fibre £20 phone £16.40 pm
Offered: Fibre £7.50 + phone £16.40 pm new 12m contract
Said I was looking a MAC to move to Plusnet.
Account 2:
Existing: BB £7.50 + £2.50 for not having Sky TV + phone £16.40
Offered: BB Free + Phone £16.40 new 12m contract
Said I was looking MAC to move to SSE.
Took them up as the broadband isn't traffic shaped unlike other providers. Worth 2 10 minute phone calls. Maybe should have held out for better looking at what others got.0 -
In my experience (this morning) SKY are not easy to haggle with at all. I'm an 'existing customer' ... I've been with them for over two years now ... and when I brought up the subject of switching to a rival company, the staff member I was speaking to just said "OK. Thanks for your call. 'Bye."
So I'm not impressed with all the MSE allegations that they're "easy to haggle with"!
NB: I just have line rental and broadband with SKY ... the cost is £16.40 and £10 respectively.0
