Virgin a joke!

I have over 8 months left on my contract but I'm moving to a new area and virgin can't provide ANY service for me there. I am not choosing to move, I have to and at the time of getting virgin I had not even considered moving.
Virgin have said they will be adding my remaining months at £40.99 per month to my bill! I can't afford that! Why should I be made to pay for a service they can't provide! I was very happy with them until this and now it's put me off ever returning to them or recommending them in the future.
I'm extremely upset by this, I really can't afford to pay this!

You are choosing to move. And the contract you agreed to was very clear.
Just because your circumstances change why should Virgin take the hit?
This is not Virgin specific either, EVERY Provider would do the same...0 -

You are choosing to move. You could stay and pay the new rental charge, but instead choose to relocate.
Either way, it's not Virgin's problem. Either pay up or risk having your credit file destroyed for the next 6 years.0 -

Have you tried negotiating a reduced termination charge through their retentions office - 150 thinking of leaving on their phone which I'm guessing you have otherwise it's an 0845 number on their website?0 -

In the overall picture, whether you like it or not, to Virgin you are choosing to move. Your circumstances behind the need to move are not of Virgin's (or any suppliers) concern. You are notifying Virgin of your intent to move, so to Virgin you are choosing to move.
This means you are choosing to break the terms of the contract to which you agreed which therefore makes you liable for the contract you signed.0 -
You are also Choosing to move to a property/location where Virgin cannot provide a service. (Granted there may be no other Virgin-capable rental properties available. But again that is also NOT Virgin's fault).
As advised above, try phoning retentions. (And ask NICELY. If you go on the phone with the same attitude you appear to be showing here then you'll get nowhere).0 -

This comes up almost every week-the answer does not change.
Your existing contract is for supply at the current address. not anywhere else in the UK that you choose to move to. You are therefore breaking your contract, and consequently compensation is payable.
If you can't afford the rent increase, then perhaps you need to reconsider whether your budget allows for subscription TV, when free alternatives are available via Freesat and Freeview?No free lunch, and no free laptop

For your information being nice got me nowhere. And that goes for most things when your a woman. They expect you to accept what your given and not make a fuss.
The only people who have actually tried to help me at Virgin have been on Twitter of all places. They have also said I won't have to pay more than £180. Which is a hell of a lot better than the £409.90 I was told before. If I hadn't made a fuss and listened to you useless lot then I'd be in debt.
